Who’s using Fugawi

I’m wondering if there’s enough interest in Fugawi for me to set up a class. I wouldn’t be going over any of Doc’s stuff on map making or using Lowrance, just my views on the best way to set up Fugawi and some tricks and twist on using it. If there is enough interest I’ll talk to the Gander Mnt at Forest Lake about using their room for 2 to 4 hours, likely on a Saturday morning.

That was close about the Yoga, just kidding.
Fugawi gps software products provide powerful and easy to use tools to extend the features of almost any hand-held GPS. At least that is what came up on google

I would be interested in something like that. I have only read about the software and would love to learn more.

The joke is that they named it after some thing about “Where the Fugawi are we?” It is a map software that you can use to display digital maps and imagery on. It’s also great for managing waypoints and trails.

This class isn’t to promote any thing, right now I’m trying to gear this towards people who already have Fugawi, but could use help using it. I’m working on getting my four laptops brought up to date and this might be a good time to have a class with 2 people to a machine for hands on experience. If some one had their own laptop and Fugawi that’d be ok too, but I want a class that is small enough every one can ask questions and informal enough to pass on ideas.
I’m going to try and get some stuff on my web site about the plus and minus of the different software Doc and I use. Fugawi, Global Mapper, 3DField, DrDepth, etc ever comes up. This won’t cover how to use the programs, just what each does or doesn’t do and how much skill is needed to run it. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

I wish I lived a little closer. I’ve been thinking about buying Fugawi fo a while now. I’d love to learn a few things about it from someone with expierence first. It could be a very handy tool for fishing down here in Nebraska and Kansas. I have some satilite imagery of a few lakes while they were very low. You can see lots of great structure and if and when the lakes come back up having Fugawi would make it easier to fish the “spot on a spot” type of stuff!!!
I hope you could put this class together and get people interested. Fugawi would be a great tool to add to your fishing arsonal!!
