I went and tested for my drivers license today with sucess . I had to take it in the rain and with the begining of rush hour traffic. This was the first test i had taken so i was pleased to hear i passed . Now all i have to do is wait for my mother to figure out insurance on friday and i will be on my own . Lets hear some stories of how other peoples first road test has gone…

congrats on passing your test, this is the first big step to manhood. I didn’t have to drive for the drivers license, at that time if you got an A in drivers ed, you did’nt have to drive. I did have to drive for a CDL,an that was pretty intense.

    Way to go!Congrats!
The first time I took the test-the D.O.T. instructor guy told me to take a right at the next turn so I did. Then he says put the car in park and shut off the engine, you just failed cause you turned down a one-way.What a jack- ___.
    I’ll never forget that.

    Again-GOOD JOB Drive safe

I took my test in Arden Hills, MN. The test wasn’t on real city streets but in this little fake city testing area. The instructor had me turn down this street and I noticed a lot of rubber skid marks, so I knew this was the place where the guy would yell “Stop!” and I’m supposed to stop as quickly as possible. Before he had a chance to say anything, I noticed there was a guy right behind me on a motorcycle. The tester yelled stop and I calmly said, “Nope, if I do that I’ll kill that guy behind me on the bike”. The tester was pretty embarrassed because he never saw the guy. I think I could have run up over the curb and hit the building and still passed the test after that.

Man that was a long time ago…

Congrats Nick. My son got his DL in May but hasn’t been able to drive yet. He has to get his grades up to a 3.0 and he has to pay for his own insurance. He’s still working at both. I’m happy for you but I hope you keep in mind the huge responsibility you accept when you step behind the wheel. Lives can change because of the choices you make while driving. Be careful and best of luck, Nick.

My test was in a snowstorm in Waseca, in a musclecar with 400 ponies under the hood….every time I touched the gas it was like I was on ice skates…..passed with a 92 though (didn’t “cover” going through intersections and spun out once…hee hee

Took my test in a 1969 Super Bee 440 6pack/4sp car. The instructor wasnt sure if he wanted in the car ,but after all it was a street legal car, took and past test with ez ,when we left we let the 6 pack breathe a little down the hiway( if ya know what I meen).

Congrats on passing test now see how you can keep them with out a ticket

congrats. I was lucky enough to pass out of it during class, but on the last day of class practice, i was paired up with a downs kid and a deaf girl with her interpreter. i was talking to the kid in back when all of a sudden we jumped the curb and started tearing through the football field and heading for a chain link fence. i jumped through the front seats to grab the emergency break and got poked in the eye by the interpreter who was signing so fast she didn’t see me coming through to grab the handle. i’m not sure if my heart has ever beat so fast.
