My wife and I are planning an Iceland vacation trip for next year, probably in March/April timeframe. Of course, the spirit led me to research fishing/hunting opportunities. I found some good ones (trout, salmon, reindeer, ducks, etc.), but wondering if anyone on IDA has been to Iceland and can offer advice on outfitters, locations, etc. Thanks.

My brother-in-law was there. He didn’t do any hunting or fishing; but he did say that Iceland most have laws that everyone is required to be good looking.

I have never been there but I was planning to take a trip when I got out of the service. I took a road trip to Alaska instead. Amazing! That was 8 yrs ago, a wife and going on 3 kids later wont be anytime soon! I remember going on a DNR type website for Iceland and found a lot of info. I remeber you have to get your gear dipped by a vet to remove all possible germs/parasites and have documentation. Also, I think you have to purchase a land use permit and not a fishing permit. There are a lot of very good sites on the web to look at for a start. Good Luck!
