I have not fished it but one of my best friends did hire a guide when he and his wife were out in Vegas. He said that they chased schools of very large stripers. He had a great time and caught several huge stripers. I saw several huge carp when I was down there walking across Hoover Dam but that is as close to fishing as I got when there.

I lived in Northern Arizona for 7 years before moving back to MN. There are very nice stripers in Lake Mead. Along with largemouth bass, crappies, sunnies, and some very big channel cats that almost no one targets. Most guys fish bass in them there parts.

Which landing are you taking off from?

I was down there last year with Bill Brasky, and wouldn’t you know it, he hauls in the biggest stripper I have ever laid eyes on…To Bill Brasky

Bring the RiverPro….I bet the stretch right below Hoover Dam would be fun to run! Ofcourse you probably will get shot at by Homeland Security officers wondering who that nut-case is down there in a boat!

When are you going out there???

I like my strippers on the smaller side.

Sorry, had to do it–made me laugh.

    Glad to make your day.

Be wary of those AZ strippers, from some one who knows.

I’ll go back to my corner know.

My neighbor goes down there somewhere and fishes for crappies at night. They use huge lights and pull them in by the hundreds. I guess they get monsters also. He said it was nothing to see an 18″ crappie.

Mack, I lived in Vegas in “83” and the only times I got out to fish Mead was during the summer and we had to fish at night, to hot during the day, we caught a lot of BIG channel cats but that’s it because we didn’t target any thing else. It is a beautiful lake, you should have a great time!!! There are some HUGE striper in there, hope you tie into some!
