I remember lots of years when there was snow on the ground by Dec 1st but then I’m 49+ years old. 2 out of the past 3 years we had snow on the ground the first weekend in December here in NE Iowa. Yesterday’s forecast was calling for a few inches but all we ended up with was a little ice, sleet and very little snow. I was looking forward to some snow on the ground for the first shotgun season this weekend but it isn’t looking good for that now. We might get a dusting here in the Dubuque area tonight and tomorrow but it is doubtful. Besides I hunt 70 miles north of here. There was 2 to 3 inches on the ground up there almost 3 weeks ago now but that was all gone by that Sunday.
When’s the last time you actually got stuck in the snow?
Yesterday, almost. I live north of Milwaukee and we got about 10 inches. Some guy was coming down a county road sideways and I had to hit the farm field. Luckily the truck kept going and I managed to get back on the road.
