Look out Cabelas, here comes Bass Pro Shops. Now you can buy the gun in the store and have protection on the way to your car. Head’s up hoodlems and gangstas, sportsmen unlike liberals, don’t hide their heads in the sand when you ask them for all their money.

I might finally have a reason to go to the MOA

I heard that Bass Pro was coming and them not coming. Two Bass Pro catalogs ago, Minneapolis was listed as coming soon store BUT the last catalog Minneapolis was not listed.
I sure hope that they come to the metro. I really like their stores. With that said though nothing beats a small mom and pop store, I like it when you get real customer service and they call you by your name.
RonNovember 28, 2006 at 12:07 am #503920Channel 5 news at 6 PM also said that Bass Pro Shops were coming to MOA as part of the next phase. They also said this phase won’t be complete until 2010. They didn’t say if BPS would be the first part of the expansion or when it is expected to open. Sounds like it will be a huge store though. Can hardly wait. Now I will have a reason to go there!
November 28, 2006 at 3:11 am #504013Dan, I am sorry but what the heck does your ridiculous commet mean. Being a liberal I haven’t dropped my head in the sand any time. To say you are going to shoot them makes me afraid of people like you. This world is made up of many people from many back grounds and it is not okay to make such a rude commet about people that are different than you.
I trully hope this was just an off the cuff comment but if not WOW I am amazed by this post.November 28, 2006 at 1:16 pm #504103Why do you find it so amazing? Someone makes a comment warning thugs and gangsters to watch out,we are sick and tired of thier actions.Now I doubt any shooting will occur but if the need did arise due to some punk gangster threating the saftey of someone or thier family the comment was made that action would be taken.Seems reasonable enough to me.In your comment you only seemed amazed that a citezen expressed conern or better yet fustration over all the thugs that have been knwon to frequent the MOA not once did you condone the thugs only the citezen that is willing to protect themselves. with thinking like your the thugs get a free pass it seems.Hope that makes sense and by no means am I trying to bash you just don’t understand your thinking is all.
November 28, 2006 at 2:32 pm #504144Unfortunately;
for those who do not know,
The MOA has become a home to thugs and “gangstas”. There is repeated mugging in the parking ramps, along with atleast one documented abduction and an attempted rape.Vehicle theft is high.
Bloomington police had to “step in” to support on-site security, because the security couldn’t handle the problems. A curfew even has been established for different age limits to control the problem.
I will not name names…..but there is even an IDA member here, who some “thugs” tried to mug him and his wife in the parking lot.
It is sad, that such a world-wide known store has become a cess-pool. The only bar that remains open now I believe is Hooters, because of the lunch crowd. If memory serves me correct, the other 5-6 big bars/night clubs shut down and boarded up the windows and doors.
I will not let my wife shop there alone…….
Now;
Do not get me wrong. The MOA is a GREAT place to shop and has wonderful stores. The amusement park is a BLAST and relatively cheap to take your kids to. Especially in the winter! You can get an all day pass for all rides for $17/person. It if fun and clean! Also, there is under-water world, another great place to take kids!!!The mall is clean and have every store you can think of. Prices are good too!!!! There are lots of different resturants to eat at as well.
It is the parking ramp that is the negative part of it all. A woman, walking alone at 9pm, after shopping, going to the parking ramp, I think would be in jeopardy.
My opinion.
November 28, 2006 at 2:55 pm #504173I haven’t been there for years…but I do recall a call box by the doors to the parking ramps that would call security to give escorts to cars.
I only go to the MOA when the FW drags my butt there…as is is with any shopping mall.
If Bass Pro Shop came to town…at least I would be able to have some fun while she’s running around.
November 28, 2006 at 3:37 pm #504201As a person who had a gun pulled on him during a visit while in highschool, I would say I am entitled to my comment. Needless to say I haven’t been back since. As far as the “liberals” comment goes well… We can talk about my reasons for that on our own, I am not willing to start a political debate in any of the forums. If you would like to discuss this any further my phone number is 612-247-9398, or just PM me.
