That is exactly what kind of fish it is.
What lake or river can you find that species on

I really would not care if it was a walleye or whatever, but why in the is it some weird made up dipiction of what appears to be our state fish.

a scrappy fighter and delicious table fare, the smallmouth trouteye can be found in lakes such as Winnemilacs and Rainybigosh.

I can’t believe that plate won! In a state FULL of fisherman/women, outdoors people and nature lovers, how on earth can that terrible design reign as the habitat plate?? You won’t see that plate on any of our vehicles!! TERRIBLE!!

    From Napoleon Dynamite

“It’s a WassBellye. It’s pretty much my favorite fish. It’s like a Bass and a Walleye mixed… bred for its skills in magic.”

You’ll see those plates on all those huge SUV vehicles driven by people who’ll NEVER put that vehicle in 4×4. You know the ones…..they are the ones who buy Ford 4×4 F150’s and Excursions only to put sport rims and low profile tires on it….

I think we have some of these up here in Poketonka. I heard they got into the lake from the Missilouis River.

If it makes you feel any better the winning plate artist was motivated by an Eye story….

“Jerod caught a 10-pound walleye this past summer,” explained Melquist. “It was a beautiful fish. That catch, plus his hounding that I enter the contest, motivated me. So I sketched and air brushed a painting that isn’t intended to depict reality so much as it is to appeal to the public.”
