Awesome game yesterday. Good to see Tony Lucia finally get his first goal, and the game winner to sweep Bucky no less!!!

They have only played 1 team that is ranked in the top 10 and lost to them. They had their hands full with Duluth and ST. Cloud and barely beat a Badger team that has no scoring punch. We will see how well they do with the Michigan teams. Other than that, they have 1 trip to CC and do not have to go to either ND or Denver. Schedule makers were pretty kind in my opinion.

So they aren’t any good. Okay. They haven’t played anybody. They are only 6-0-2 in the WCHA. They swept Wisconsin at home, with no scoring punch. But the best defense in the league, including the goalie (Elliot) who almost single handedly won the national championship for the Badgers last yeat. They swept UMD at UMD. No small feat there. The only stumbling block in the WCHA is SCSU. They swept a CC team beating them by a combined score of 10-1. They lost to a Maine team who has arguably the best goalie in college this year. Whether they are national champs is very debatable, but for now, they are doing what they are supposed to do, the whole time wearing the same target on their backs that they wear every year.

I can only say one thing for my Badgers:

    2005 Hockey National Champions
    2006 Baksetball National Champions
    2007 Football National Champions

Must be nice to have a decent chance of winning in more than one sport. One major sport, don’t want to get the wrestling fans around here upset.

And to think the Gophers are doing this without any of the 3 centers we were supposed to have starting for us this year.

Oh well, our loss is the NHL’s gain, again!

Catchy, that didn’t come off the cover of USAHockey Magazine did it? There is a good article in there about the great progam the Gophers have. This years team looks very good. They do have some let downs during each game, but it they still come out on top.

I was a little curious how Kessel, Irmen, and Potulny were doing this year. Potulny and Vanek haven’t been playing, but Kessel is doing good. He has started every game with Boston and has 8 pts. Former gopher Vanek is in the top five in about every offensive category this year.

Just an FYI- Tonites game is being shown live on CSTV at 7pm and taped delayed on FSN after the Wolves game.. Do we still have pro basketball?
