Some Bear fans were popping up after every Bears win to proclaim them “the best team in the NFC” and a lock to go 16-0. That latter argument is gone, but I have said repeatedly that the Bears were not unstoppable, and I never for one moment believed they would go un-defeated when they struggled against mediocre teams like Minnesota and horrible teams like Arizona (not to mention Miami). I have said in other threads that the Bears are the best team in the division, but I was not and am not convinced they are the “best team in the NFC”. They have beaten one good team (the Giants), and that good team was suffering some real injury issues. A better test for the Bears will be New England, and there is no doubt in my mind “the best team in the NFC” will be exposed for what they are–a good defense with a mediocre offense.

Here it is again excuses on why they won oh because the giants had injuries well so did the bears keep them coming…….. This is funny.

This Bear fan needs to step up and predict how Chicago will do against New England–that’s all I’m looking for. Anyone can brag about a win against a bad team like the Cardinals after the fact, or a victory to a team QB’d by the runt of the Manning litter. I’m still looking for the post where the Bear fan in question predicted a win against a banged-up Giants team…

Why don’t we just chill this post, and pull it back up in late January. Thats when it will matter anyway. I am sure one of you, will be waiting patiently to pull this ahead at that time. Until then, lets enjoy the outdoors and each others company here.
