If my memory serves me, there was some discussion on here many moons ago about a little tripod that could be set up in the boat and with some preliminary adjustments, could be used to take fish pics when fishing alone or getting a pic of that great “double” with your fishing partner, using the delayed time snapshot feature of your camera. Any knowledge that anyone has on these gadgets would be appreciated.

You can buy the mini tripods at a Best Buy or any retail store similar to that. They just screw into the bottom of your camera (if it has a place for it). They cost about $12-$15.

I bought mine at Target. I have seen them in Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Ultimate Electronics but check with your local photo shop first. I stil believe in at least trying to spend localy.

I got mine at Sam’s club. They had a deal with a mini and regular tripod combo. Not sure what the cost was, maybe $20 to $30. I think you can find them on online at samsclub.com.

Get this one!!! I just ordered it. I think it will solve the problem for a stand or tripod to take pics of yourself or for CPR. I have tried tripods and even one of those clamp on tripods. I think this one would probably work best. Got it from Amazon.com. Getting it next week. It is called the Gorillapod!!

    Here is one.

Hey admins, considering that fishing and IDAers have such interest in photography, you could ask them to be one of our site sponsors not only for IDA but for IDO (IN-DEPTH OUTDOORS). I think hunters would also appreciate this device for taking pis or movies of their hunts/kills/no-kills!!

Thanks for the imput, guys. TSCTSC, that Gorillapod, looks like an interesting device. I’ll have to check it out. I’ll check back with you later, after you’ve had a chance to use it, to see how you like it.
