Vikings-Packers Game

Here is my analysis of today’s big border brawl: on one side we have the Vikings offense, which couldn’t score with an exotic dancer on Lake Minnetonka. ( rimshot, hold for applause ) On the other we have the Louisiana gunslinger, who even in his prime a decade ago could be counted on to throw three INTs in the Metrodome.

The resistable force that is the Viking offense will be going against the movable object that is the 2006 Packers defense. I therefore expect the Vikings to score two field goals, with one probably coming on their first possession. That seems to be their pattern this season.

Favre will probably put a touchdown on the board against a pretty good Vikings defense, along with a field goal. The key will be whether the Vikings defense can convert any of the Packer’s four turnovers into touchdowns. My guess is they will run one Favre interception back for a touchdown, along with a field goal the Vikings offense will produce from another Green Bay turnover. Final score: Vikings, 13, Packers 10.

Funny thing is, I agree almost completely with your annalysis except the part about the Vikes running back of INT’s and the final score. I see it as GB 13 MN 10.

One good thing about this game, I will actually get to watch it here since I am slave to MN stations. Last week the Vikes biased media here forced me to watch “Da Bears” in the early game. Even though my Packers lost the weekend still turned out GREAT!

My prediction is; being there is going to be a spot about Cambridge WI. (Go Matt) during the pre race show, and a close points race, my TV will be on Speed and NBC
I just don’t want to get myself worked up over the Packers today I’ll check out the score tomorrow

Have a great day Football/Race Fans

Not to be negative, but I think the Vikings will win today. I have things to do outside and the race will be more important than the game.

Refs already make a bad call that favors the Queens.

A.Green went down at the goal line, ball hit the line…TD, NOOOOO…refs spot the ball at the 1 and now its 3rd and goal??!?!?!?!

It’s up the coach to challenge spots like that. He had the chance and dropped the ball….

After further review, the refs got it right.

Then the Vikes give the ball right back in their own territory.

    And they call this football?!??!!!?

Ok, I can admit when I am wrong, the slow mow review showed his knee was down at the 1.

There are two minutes left, but I do not for one moment believe a Brad Johnson-led offense can put one touchdown up, much less another score after a recovered on-side kick. So, the Packers are going to beat the Vikings at home. So…

Packer fans, you were right, I was wrong. You’re smart, I’m dumb. You’re good-looking, I am less attractive.

Now that we have that out of the way, this was another inept performance by the Vikings. Inconsistent offense, another kick return for a touchdown lost because of a penalty, Brad Johnson getting smeared by the pass rush, and all kinds of time for Favre to pick the Vikings secondary apart all hurt the Vikings. Childress made not one but two questionable replay requests, and while he spent most of the game on the sidelines Troy “Stone Hands” Williamson still came up with a clutch drop.

Having admitted I was wrong about the Vikings winning, I am hereby changing my earlier prediction that Minnesota would make the playoffs as a wild card. This team is going nowhere.

Ah…no need to worry about the looks or the smarts.

I am glad we won as I am tried of hearing the smack from the purple about a team thats no better than all the fresh faces in GB. We have a ton of inexperienced players but we still have Bret. You got Brad…nuff said.

Hey, guess what? Were now in 2nd place

Wow, I really didn’t think the game would turn out like that. We had it on here in NE, so I watched that one instead of the kc chefs, who are ALWAYS on my tv.

If not them, it’s definitely the stinkin denver donkeys, who I really REALLY hate.

So I was glad to see this game on!

I really thought the Vikes would win this one. Nearly everyone picked them, including me. My picks after this Sunday are gonna look BAD.

but GB beat Minn so that gives them the edge in the event of a tie record, just a little but it gives us bragging rights

I heard that the biggest cheering section for the two QBs was the AARP section!

I listened to the game on KFAN, so I still don’t know what happened.

I made a little wager on an earlier post, I picked the Vikings so I will be sending a donation to ARM as a result of that bet.

Now is anybody still drinking the Purple Kool-Aid? On a good day Eden Prarie High School could hold this offense under 30.

Did you know that the 49’ers and Green Bay were the two lowest ranked defenses prior to playing the Vikings? (I’m not sure if it was run defense, pass defense or over all)

    This team is laughable.

Did anybody happen to notice all the fans dressed as empty seats at the 2:00 minute warning? How do you leave the game at that point? I know they needed two scores but come on Queen fans. No offense(literally ) but MN fans are the most fair weather, bandwagon ridin’ group out there. Teams have figured the Queens out. You may not be able to run the ball against them but Fatty Patty Williams is a liability against the pass. I would throw on 1st and 2nd downs all day against this defense. I don’t believe the Pack is going to make the playoffs but they continue to get better every week and with one more solid draft and few more key free agent pick ups next year this team will contend for a play-off spot next year. Nothing better thAn winning in the Dome; nice game Pack

Was it last week the Pack got better?

Or was it this week against the mighty Purple offense?

You shouldn’t swallow the Kool-Aid coming out of Green Bay anymore then the Kool-Aid coming out of Winter Park.

These are two terrible teams, just how many more years do you expect Brett to carry these guy’s? Then What? Rogers? They won’t even play that guy when they have a awefull season going.

It will be many, many years before any titles are won on either side of the River.

That was what was missing in this battle border. This game was meaningless. Two teams with nothing going on.

And that Greg Coleman has to go I really do not need an announcer/color guy to yell at me the whole game giving me meaningless insight from a mediocre punter at best during his playing years. I like P.A. on KFAN, but as the voice of the Vikings….No.

I can put up with P.A once you understand his whole persona is made up, he will be a giant homer as long as it’s in his best interest.

Now Sensor and Coleman are something else!
I’m a huge radio guy, I have XM and I listen to alot of sports talk radio. These two guy’s are the worst I have heard, anywhere, announcing anything!! They are pitifull and I can’t figure out how they still have a job, other then they must work cheap which is a Viking mandate.

All I can say about Sensor and Coleman is they are about as inept as the Vikings. They all deserve each other.

If you look at the stats from last week at Buffalo the Pack dominated every one except the turnover battle, so yes I would say they are getting better. Lets remember everbody had the Packers maybe winning three or four games this year. Most people had the Queens in the playoffs or battling for a spot. I disagree that this is an awful team. They have won three roads games already and I don’t care what anyone says; winning anywhere on the road in the NFL is very difficult. Why would they play Rodgers now? They are in every game every week so why would you play him. Why don’t the Vikings play Jackson or Bollinger instead of that dead armed Johnson? Answer because Johnson and Favre still give their teams the best chance of winning right now, well maybe Johnson doesn’t. I don’t believe anybody in GB is printing play-off tickets this year but after today’s game who should be feeling better about the future of their team?

Oh, I know PA’s persona very well. And like I said, I do not mind him as a sports guy. Just not an announcer.

I listen to Sirius and have NFL Radio and ESPN etc. I hear them all as well, and agree those two clowns are the worst. Bring back Dan Rowe and Stu Voigt! Let PA do the color..

As a huge Packer fan and little to crow about…I am just glad the packers were not out coached by Childress! As to the Patriots…the coaching will kill us. I wounder if they will try to go deep?

Good job packers. I was pulling for them all game, this even coming from a bears fan, but hey I do prefer the packers over gay guys in purple.
