Here is my analysis of today’s big border brawl: on one side we have the Vikings offense, which couldn’t score with an exotic dancer on Lake Minnetonka. ( rimshot, hold for applause ) On the other we have the Louisiana gunslinger, who even in his prime a decade ago could be counted on to throw three INTs in the Metrodome.
The resistable force that is the Viking offense will be going against the movable object that is the 2006 Packers defense. I therefore expect the Vikings to score two field goals, with one probably coming on their first possession. That seems to be their pattern this season.
Favre will probably put a touchdown on the board against a pretty good Vikings defense, along with a field goal. The key will be whether the Vikings defense can convert any of the Packer’s four turnovers into touchdowns. My guess is they will run one Favre interception back for a touchdown, along with a field goal the Vikings offense will produce from another Green Bay turnover. Final score: Vikings, 13, Packers 10.
