I woke up for work this morning and noticed about 2″ of snow on the ground, and it’s still coming down. I live in northwest Iowa. Wouldn’t you know, today is the only day I have to work in the morning for the whole month. Should be some good hunting today. Pheasants will be headed for cover and ducks on the move. Could be a long day for me with the first snow, I’m sure all sorts of vehicles will be going in the ditch.

just looked out the work window here in Rochester and its snowing pretty good. Not much sticking though.
November 10, 2006 at 12:51 pm #498161Just drove in from Kasson to Rochester. There was a lot more snow coming down when I left than there is here in Roch. It was snowing so hard I could hardly see the road and it made me dizzy trying to focus.
My son has a goose hunt tomorrow that he won with a local guide service. They are doing this for a bunch of kids I think…..I believe it is the first year. I am no expert but I think this snow will help out!
November 10, 2006 at 12:55 pm #498163We have about 3 inches on the ground here and still coming down hard. Just got the call from the boss. No work today . Lets go hunting
November 10, 2006 at 12:59 pm #498164I have about 3″ on the ground at it’s lightly snowing.

As I walked into work today, all I could think about was, “what a great day to go hammer eyes and saugers on Pool 4.”
November 10, 2006 at 1:31 pm #498171You can add lightning and thunder to the mix in Rochester now. Pretty sweet.
November 10, 2006 at 1:39 pm #498176And you should see all the people that act as if they have never driven in stuff like this! There is a reason why people are driving slow…and then there is a reason why YOU are now in the ditch! Let’s be careful out there folks! Would be a good day to stalk deer!
November 10, 2006 at 1:46 pm #498179Some friends of mine are out goose hunting right now. Lightning and thunder sw of town!
November 10, 2006 at 2:03 pm #498192Saw the first car in a ditch this winter. Went in right across from the store. Good thing he was going slow and did not have any damage. The snowplow came through a little while ago and now the roads look much better.
Good Fishing,
MikeNovember 10, 2006 at 2:19 pm #498206My plan was to be out chasing roosters this a.m.,but with school being 2 hours late right now I’ll have to wiat until I get the boys off to school. They have cancelled 2 local schools in the last hour though.
Ryan HaleNovember 10, 2006 at 2:28 pm #498210Cannon Falls MN was bad enough I had to put the truck in 4×4 to get out of my driveway and pull away from the curb at the bakery (that could have been the snow or to many dohnuts ) . If I had to guess I would say 3-5″ on the ground.
Don HansonPosts: 2073November 10, 2006 at 3:11 pm #498229Just came back from bird hunting, 6 cars in the ditch in a 6 mile stretch.
November 10, 2006 at 3:46 pm #498242Could you guys send a little snow up north please. Here in Grand Rapids it is partly sunny, zeor snow on the ground. Got to get out of here and go chase those deer around.
November 10, 2006 at 4:51 pm #498272Ryan, looks like you guys are getting a big part of the storm, had a buddy call and said as of yet he had not seen any roosters along the road, have to re-waterproof the boots tonight, we are headed to Cherokee Sat. AM to chase roosters, they have 4″
November 10, 2006 at 5:32 pm #498301Just took photo out to office door. Between Austin and Rochester. Good whack’in weather. Love it.

And how!!!November 10, 2006 at 9:40 pm #498412It’s tryin here in south central Nebraska, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s gonna amount to anything. I know it came down a little bit in NE Nebraska.
November 10, 2006 at 10:27 pm #498430We have about 8″ of the white junk on the gound here in Central Wis. Bright spot is it won’t stay long, and it should help cool the water for forming ICE Think I will pull out the auger tomorrow and get her ready. For those of you who want snow, bring a truck I have a yard full for free

November 11, 2006 at 4:18 am #498525Just 20 minutes south of me they got 16.5 inches Caused many many long delays on the highways with many accidents and a few shutdowns of the highways. Havent heard of any serious accidents though, which is good.
