Legal?

    My hometown lake, one of the ends are open. Is it legal to fish for bass even though the season hasnt started and no bass can be taken out of the lake. Isnt it true if the dnr guy sees you trying to catch northern you can get in trouble for that also?

    No it’s not legal and yes you can get in trouble.

    You can not intentional target a species when the season is closed. Doesn’t matter if you are going to release it or not.
