This pic of a nice 6 pound bass comes from Tom Kaempffer of Ramsey, MN.

Tom caught this bass on a lake near Hackensack Mn. on a lake called Pleasant Lake . What was your technique for catching these bass Tom ?

All of the smaller fish pictured were caught in heavy cover underneath overhanging branches in deep water (8-10′) near the bank. I was flipping both a plastic worm (Culprit “Junebug”) and a “creature bait” (Zoom Brush Hog – “Black Ruby”) Texas-rigged (3.8 oz lead). Big bass was caught on single blade 3/8 oz spinnerbait with Junebug skirt in a heavily weeded shallow (3-4′) cove in the late afternoon.

Other fish were caught between 7:00 – 9:30 am. Not pictured were two 5+ pounders caught under the overhangs on other days of that week while flipping same baits.

Nice picture! Although I can basically throw a rock from my front door and his pleasant lake, I very rarelly fish it except in the early spring. Great picture though and keep the pictures coming in!! plesant lake is a great fishery and will continue to be for many years just like most of the lakes up here. Did you happen to catch a lot of very small northerns? I was just wondering because i have heard that plesant lake has problems with stunned northerns. I know when I fish the lake it is often hard to keep those little 10″ snakes off.
