The wife wants an Ipod for Xmas. She is going to be spending a fair share of her day riding a bus downtown. She mostly wants it for music, but know her she will want to watch her weekly shows if possible.

    So, questions:
    1. Are all TV shows downloadable Itunes? i.e. Grays Anatomy.
    2. Can I play the Ipod on my TV if I have already paid for the movie?
    3. Can I convert our existing DVD’s to Ipod format easily?

Anyone with experience with these devices, I would appreciate some direction. Maybe she only needs a nano that can hold music??

If you go to apple.com and find the “I-tunes” store they will have the shows that are avaialable. I think one would have to pay to download it. As far as your DVD’s there is a way to convert them to the I-pod. I know that, but I am unsure where to buy that or download that from. sorry cant answer all the questions, but hope it helps.

stay away from ipod, they have such a lock on all there music and stuff it is really BS. me and my girl have them and we are thinking of getting rid of it. if you reset your computer you lose all your music. any many other complaints just pm me, and tomorrow. i will get the girl on line and she will go on non-stop.

One of the reasons why I got a Creative Zen Vision M.Easy as heck to use, none of the “issues”,like ipod.Easy to use software,I got it just to transfer cds to player.I heard that if you delete files on the computer, the next time you dock an ipod it will dump the files.Of course if you tweek itunes program,it will prevent this from happening?

New at it,so I got the easiest one to use.Very happy with it so far.

Devils advocate, I’m not crazy about the idea of using head phones or a mobile video players when in public, the distration alone makes you more vulnerable. Something to keep in mind anyways.

My wife also has a Creative Zen Micro Photo, very happy with that also, haven’t tried it for anything other than music, but it is very easy to use and put music on or off. I have two computers and can transfer the music from either of them as well, so I don’t have to use all the memory on the “good” ocmputer, I download all my music on an older computer but can put all the music on the newer computer if I wanted to. If you are using unsecure software for downloading this would be the best idea for that. I am a supporter of Creative Zen, been a perfect little expensive thing for my wife. HAHA lets me buy more fishing stuff!
