Deer opener. It is a family ritual that my father got me into 22 years ago.
My deer hunting with my father I consider extremely special. It is a bonding time. When I was younger, my years hunting with my father was a time for him to have one-on-one time with me, teaching me how to be a better person.
Now that I’m older, I get to hear the “good stuff” that my father did as a kid and we share good laughs.
Fishing can happen anytime….Deer hunting is only 1 week a year.
This will be the first year that my father cannot shoot a gun due to a pace maker installed. At 82 years old, he is as tough as nails and will “tag along”. So, with any luck, “we” can shoot a big buck this year!
