What is your opinion? Somewhere in the 500 power. Possibly EFI. Used for hunting and recreation.
    Honda, Polaris, Yamaha, Artic Cat…

All of the models are very nice, I own an 04 500 H.O. Polaris. I am very happy with it but, one thing I would highly recomend is fuel injected. Being I use mine primarily for ice fishing I would not buy a carb model, (This is why I am considering trading.) I have not had starting problems, it would just be nice to not have to mess with chokes. Also look at what you plan to do with the machine before you buy, I got all the bells and whistles and for going out on the ice I could have gotten by with a cheaper model. If you trail ride then you definetly want suspension. One thing I will also mention is the 4×4 option. Having tru 4wd during ice season and deer season makes for a nice option, many of the machines are really only 3 wheel. I am really happy I put on Rawhide tires, and the winch will also come in handy.

The only machine I had had bad experiences with is the Artic Cat models.

I dont think you can really make a bad choice when it comes to a new atv. I have owned several both two and four wheel drive models. I just purchased a 2000 Sportsman 500, after having a 454 Arctic Cat 4×4. If you plan on getting into some deep mud snow etc, I would reccommed a model with independent rear suspension just because of the added ground clearance. My arctic cat had solid rear axle, and I would get hung up where friends on the independent machines would get through both in snow and mud. I dont know about the EFI machines, but to me, a machine with less electronics and components the easier to maintain and work on yourself when something does go wrong. If you hunt or travel where it is wet, make sure to get a quality winch. I reccommend a 3000 lb winch regardless of the size of the atv. If you get stuck hard and have a small winch you may not get out. Have not had this happen yet, but came close even with a 3000lb winch. If your going to use it ice fishing alot invest in some tire chains I have heard they help alot. Good luck with the purchase
