Here’s another shot of a great ice house. I think this one is Jon’s Pad. It was sure nice being able to checkout the Otter Lodge. I own an Otter Cabin and it’s a great house for traveling light for two but the Lodge is quite a bit roomier and you can stand up in it. Will it fit in the back of an extended cab truck with the 6.5 foot bed???I may sell my cabin and buy a lodge? Or I may keep my cabin and add a lodge to my toys. Steve

I found the pie after I got home… in tact !

    Gone now .

I have to thank Jiffy Ice Augers for the sponsorship and letting me use their products all year. The Jiffy frilled many holes for us… and in a real “jiffy” too. Great unit to have with. FYI… I sold it to “Smitty” who had to have it once he had used it !

Thanks to all who came and brought stuff… you are appreciated. Racer, thanks for the chili makings. Thanks also to James Holst and EFN for being right here for us all.

I want to say thanks to David Leterman for the new H2 Hummer… ands will do so… as soon as he gives it to me on his show .

So, here I go… back working on getting my new Hummer with the best Hummer slogan in the world!

    “Show me your Hummer”

    “Hummer rides… $500.00”

“Gas, gas, or gas… no one rides for free!”

    “Humm…er this”

“Hummer – not just a ride!”

“Mo Hummer, Mo Hummer, Mo Hummer”

“My Hummer… even Santa is jealous.”

“My wife gave me a Hummer… I’ll thank her when I get back…!”

    “I Hummer in my sleep”

    Say…

I bet Dave Letterman can get me a Hummer…

Ten best reasons to have a Hummer:

    1. I have no driveway

    2. No roads where I am going

    3. The Hummer in yellow color matches the bug brains on the windshield

    4. I can pick up real big chicks

    5. I like saying “NOT” to the IRS

    6. I like calling for a “convoy” on my CB

    7. My gal an I are into the Military thing…

    8. I hate curbs

    9. I like sitting taller than the gas pump

    10. Pedestrians don’t have a chance

    I want a Hummer!

Thanks to all that made the comforts there seem all too pleasing in that cold wind. I had one of the best tasting chili dogs that I have ever had. And when it comes to “on-ice” location, those things could be sold for top dollar!! And it was FREE! Yummy.

It was good to see everyone again. Ron Zimmerman and I took to the bluegill hot spot right away in the morning. And Mike Finke put us right on the fish! Thanks Mike. After nearly two hours of non-stop action of mostly small sunnies, we drove over to the rest of the gathering in the crappie hole! I did not get a chance to raid the EFN store as it was closing up shop and I was too busy flappin the gums to take part.

    Hoggard…..see your PM.

Thanks to all. I had a good time. I wished we had a little nicer weather, because I think we could of had a better turn out.

yep…. IceEyes… = River Eyes….. somehow “River” did not seem to fit LAKE all that well… so I changed…. I DO fish lakes sometimes.. I have about 30 of them within 30 minutes of me…. so I would be silly to NOT fish them….. and some of them are pretty darn good fishing too……

Guys, this was real fun. I want to thank Otter Outdoors also for allowing us at EFN to have a pro-program on the Otter Ice fishing houses and sleds. They are the very best in my book and made our day on the ice real easy…. “nothing works like an Otter”. How about that purple color… all right ! Gotta love that .

Thanks for the pics Jon. It was great meeting everyone but, as the pics show, it was hard to put a face to the name in some cases due to the cold weather. The food was great and with all the Otter Shacks it was like going to an ice fishing show on the ice.

The fish ran on the small size that day. Normally the more you are willing to move, the more fish you will catch. The same went for that day. Most of us spent more time bsing than fishing.

It Looks like a good time was had by all. I enjoyed looking at the pix and seeing everyone. I wish I could have made it down this year . I will definetly mark it on the calander for next year. Hey, how about everyone coming up to Leech or Winnie next year and do some perch jerking? I was on Winnie over the weekend and got some really nice perch. I will post some pix soon in the leech forum for everyone to see.

Fall Fishing would be best, as the fall bite (escecially when the shinners are running) is hard to beat . there are plenty of campgrounds and hotels around here to stay at in this area and hardly anyone is around this time of year using these facilitys. If more people get intrested in this idea I could try to get a group thing together at a spot. The fall on Leech also offers a awsome perch bite that is hard to beat as well as musky if one enjoys hunting these toothy critters
