    Nope just better technology.

The same reason they are discountinuing the 110 & 111, better technology and having to compete in a market that is highly competitive.

Lowrance discontinued the LCX-20C because it was unpopular due to the lower resolution. They are discontinuing the rest of the current lineup (or most of it) now but the LCX-20C has been discontinued for a while now. It’s not a bad unit if one can get it at the right price. It’s actually very good on the GPS side of the coin and will get the job done as a sonar unit. It just didn’t get the high number of sales or praise that the rest of the lineup received.

I was at the new Cabelas in North Milwaukee today and noticed a LCX-20C in their bargain bin. I was shocked to see a $550 price tag so I checked it out. I was thinking that was a steal until I saw the unit close up.

I have a LCX-19C and one would reason (including myself) that the LCX-20C would be a step up from the 19. Well, not what I saw. The main thing I noticed is that the unit is the same size as the 19 but the 20 has a really small screen. I did not hear much about the 20 over the years so I then figured it must not be a step up.

That’s as far as I looked into it. BTW- The unit is probably still there for anyone who wants one for $550.
