I am looking for maps of pools 8-11 and something fairly new. There has been a lot of riprap and wingdams added the last few years. Do any ever show depth? Thanks

    rogan,

These are good maps . They are color and you need Adobe Acrobat to view the maps. Very good for indentifying riprap and wingdams.

Mapping Specialists 3-D lake maps out of Madison, WI is doing a series on the river – Pool 9 is getting the last proof check with guide Dick Neefe as of tomorrow. Pool 10 will follow. Slow going as there is an incredible amount of new data , and information to compile and verify, but they will be more than worth the wait. Once you see them , you will agree these are with out a doubt the best , most up to date maps EVER produced of the Miss. R. !!!! –

I love the maps Steve. So, there are just not many wingdams between LD3 and Lake Pepin? Also, how do you distinguish riprap on these maps? Thanks!

That’s right….there are only a handful of them between LD3 and the head of the lake. At least one old silted-in dam isn’t on the map.
