Based on what I found I discarded the idea. It would take a lot of running with the big motor to charge the trolling motor battery very much. When i’m out fishing I run the big motor for a little bit and then shut it off, drop the trolling motor in the water, and fish for a long time. It just didn’t seem to be worth the extra complexity and expense. Put it this way, it’s a lot cheaper and easier to buy an extra battery and bring that along.
