I found this for the Sportmans Multi-Heater cook book.
    Sounds pretty good to me.

1/4 cup mayonnaise mixed with pinch chili powder and chopped fresh jalapeno pepper
4 thick slices whole wheat bread
8 slices crisply fried turkey bacon
    6 thin slices ripe tomato
    Washed lettuce leaves
Mix the mayonnaise with pinch of chili powder and chopped fresh jalapeno pepper and set aside.

Toast the bread lightly. Spread each side with mayonnaise. Pile on bacon, tomato, and lettuce and top with other slice of toast

Sure wish the wind would go down…(and the temp) “think Ice”

    Sound good to me

I did the cooking last night when out with Marty Prince. We went to French…. good fishin! No big fish but lots of good company, conversation, and good eats!

The Sportsman’s Multi-Heater boiled water for coffee and made me a hot T.V. dinner in short order.

    Good stuff

Just got mine in the mail today. These things really look neat! Comes with a nice padded seat and everything. You hear about those fancy new expensive cars that have ”heated seats”, well I now have a ”heated seat” in my boat, at my camper, at the camp fire, where ever I am in fact. YES!!!

Here is a list of accessories you can buy at Walmart and the “Dollar Store” to aid in your cooking with the Sportsman’s Multi Heater.
    Dollar Store:
    12″ metal tongs – great for grabbing… $1.00
Simmer Ring – makes a double boiler out of any pan, it is a heat defuser prevents burning and scorching. Perfect fro keeping even temperatures, making cornbread, toast…. $1.00
Baker’s Collection Cake Pans – 8″1/2 and 9″ cake pans. one smaller than the other makes a lid for the larger, “cleans in a jiffy” coated with non stick finish… $1.00 ea.
Cake Rack – heavy guage steele rack keeps pans from grill surface to bake instead of fry… $1.00

    Walmart:
Acu)Rite Oven Thermometer – hangs on pail side and displays temps, stainless steel construction… under $5.00
Grease Strainer Pot – works as a great two man coffee pot! It has detaching top strainer that can be used as steamer. Water boils in minutes in it and pot has a handle at an angle such that it can be placed over the Multi Heater’s wood handle and will hang there, off the heated surface & then stays hot without boiling further…under $5.00
    Hot biscuits anyone?

A metal camping “mess kit” works just great with this Sportsman’s Multi Heater.

    Hoggie,
I got my Sportmans Heater on Friday and put it to the test Saturday in the howling cold. One really neat thing about the heater is its like a body warmer….as the bucket cooks your warm meal….the seat heats up and along with that…one can stick the pipe in your shirt to warm the upper body and at no time does one get chilled. I am very impressed with how quite and odorless this unit is…..I will have one of these on all outings now….great unit….Sean

I have not got to use it for a body warmer yet… but for cooking I am thrilled with it! I bought a chicken to see if I can roast a full sized hen in it… Fun ! Racer gave me some ideas… standing the bird upright on a rack and allowing it to cook from the inside better. We’ll see soon.
Let us know your results here.

Heck maybe you could put a couple of frozen tv dinners in it when you go in and after a couple of hours go back out and have lunch. That would be really cool (er ah HOT) Maybe you could wear one of those billboards that say! See the sportsmans stove in action.Show at noon in the parking lot on one side and Anglers as Role Models on the the other side. Steve

    Dave,

How can we get more of these? My brothers and relatives fell in love with these things last weekend while I gave them a demo on the ice. One of them is taking my unit to a Ducks Unlimited (DU) meeting in 2 weeks up in Bemidji. These could be a big hit to the late fall duck hunters that are anxiously (but cold) awaiting the “northern ducks” to arrive.

Give me a contact and number and I will forward it on.

This item is not in the EFN store yet… you’ll have to order from me… I’ll shoot you a PM.

There is a two week delivery from Canada.

Anyone check on the fuel at Sam’s Club?

    Thanks,

Yep. I just happened to be in Sams club on Saturday and I looked for those little cans like you had at the FTL Chili eating,BSN ice fishing day but no luck there.I did see something pretty interesting though. All employees in Sams club were wearing these little bright red vests that said something like Ask me I can help or something similar. I thought maybe it would be something helpers could wear at the nest BB/BS day so the kids and bigs knew who to ask for whatever.Other than that I saw a huge box of forks and a huge box of knifes to go with all those spoons.

Sam’s is the cheapest place that I have found for those disposiable canesters, you can also refill your own from a 5 or 20# tank.

Fuel has been spotted at Sam’s Club Stores… Maple Grove Sam’s Hwy 94 % 95th Ave. is supposed to have them for $11.86 a dozen! Wow… that is a deal. Now, I can stock up.

    Wow 2 cool
The Sportsman’s Multi Heater is going with shipping pre-paid for under $100.00 now!
Comes with a can of fuel.
    FYI…. on the fuel….
I should tell you it is not recommended by the manufacture to use any other kind of fuel (except for that kind that it is shipped with and what is recommended) as some could fuels will be very dangerous (such as “gel fuels” or any alcohol based products) because of flash points or toxic fumes.
