Look at what I found… Stu MaKay turned me on to this thing. What a deal, I can cook and stay warm too ! I am hooked! I had it on my Owatonna cable fishing TV show and did a product review on it today…. gotta love this for ice fishing or in the boat.

You load what ever you want to cook into it and fire it up! Cooks and keeps you warm both!

It has a metal bucket that holds heat well and a camo cover that has double thermal insulated blanket for a under layer. The blanket is a “space blanket” that reflects the heat back to the bucket. $280 degrees is standard inside but you can increase that by butterfly-ing out the wick. Burns a liquis that is non-flamable on the wick… can be mailed or shipped in a plane as non-hazardous.

Pouch on hte cover holds an extra fuel container… runs 6 hours on a can of fuel.

You sit on it and put the heater hoze under your coat to stay warm and warm your hands too. This is a guy sitting on one in a boat…. his coat is hanging over the heater with the hose between his legs.

Pretty cool little gizmo there Dave! Any chance we can get an idea what the suggested retail is and how much those little canisters go for?

    Cool indeed!

How safe is it in case of a tip over? Does the fuel spill out of the canister?

    And, of course, price?

    Yep… it is a spendy little unit…

but what ain’t that is not made in China these days .

    The suggested retail is $156.00

Each unit comes with one container of fuel.

The suggested retail fuel cost are $5.30 each container.

“If” I can get them into the EFN Outlet Store through B-Fish-N Tackle… EFN would be selling them for aprox. $125.00 + $8.50 shipping.

Fuel thru EFN would cost about $4.00 per container + shipping would be free with purchase of a unit and shipped togeather.

HUM…Price of unit $125.00, cost of extra fuel $4.00… Keeping your self warm & hot meals like soup and burgers, brats, dogs/chili on the ice … PRICELESS !

Here you go wanting me to have to spell again…
The fuel is dyetholine glycoll… and is not flamible. It burns only with a wick or when poured on something that will burn. When you pour it on a metal table and strike a match to it, it will not light. The fuel container has a liquid in it and a wick sticking out the top. Knock over a lit container and it continues to burn on it’s side but nothing spills out of hte container. The container is rubber banded to a three sided holder secured in the bottom of hte metal bucket where there is nothing else there to burn.
This is a darn save design… unlike a wide mouth open can of “canned heat” where as the material burns it gets smaller and can fall out while “lit” of a turned over can.
I like the idea of it being very safe and being able to be knocked over with no risk. A guy can fire this baby up and leave it…. to return to a hot lunch !
I am giving her a try asap… I am thinking of trying baked potatoes a sprinkle of bacon bits… top of sour cream/slat & pepper 2 .

WOW!!! You mean I can be out ice fishing and stay warm AND cook my lunch or supper all from the same unit!!! You mean I can be fishing at the Red Wing dam in my boat and stay warm while my ”HOT” meal is cooking!!!. This means no more cold soggy sandwhiches as I can cook hamburgers, brats, ring balony, steaks, and even pizza all while I’m haulin in the big one. Gee I’m going to get get so spoiled while I’m fishing I won’t ever want to come back home. In fact, if I bring my sleeping bag I can eat, sleep and fish all day and evening without having to go to shore for anything. Man, this is going to be the life! Where can people get these great heater/cookers from Hoggie. If I’m going to be able to live like a King, others should have the chance also. Thanks, Bill

    Bill,

Your an awfully excited person for someone who has some serious healing to go thru the next couple weeks/monthes. Hope everything is mending, rehabing good.
Gods speed, fishing seasons coming fast. We really need some cold weather to slow my anticipation down……NOT.

Hey Hooks, With all this time on my hands right now all I can do is think about fishing. That and all the Management Committee stuff to do it gives me a one track mind-fishing! lol. [as if I didn’t have that kind of mind already]. This nice weather is great provided we don’t get a late winter about April 1st. when I plan on crawling back in my boat. Sounds like colder stuff coming Thurs. and I’d just as soon get it over with now. Nate and ”Jigging Chick” are back up in your Mille Lacs neighborhood finishing the hanging and taping D-Mans cabin next door to you until Sun. night. Am walking without the walker now but still have a hec of a leg swelling problem and the exercises are painful but its going forward. I call it ”getting ready for spring fishing”. I just have a few more things this year to get ready thats all. lol. Your new house sure sounds nice. And you will be close to Bobber too so that should be perfect for both of you. Take care, catch and release a few for me. Bill

I wonder what deer would think about the smell (does it smell while burning). It might be really nice to be sitting on one of those babies during gun season if your a stand hunter. Hey I think I may have to try one of those out. Anyone for an early morning of ice fishing. Hot coffee, Jimmy Dean Hot sausage gravy on the coleman stove and baking powder biscuits in the oven. That sounds good to me. Steve

The fuel has no smell at all! No smell on your hands or while burning….. leinieman, think the deer will smell the sausage, biscuits, and gravy ? Hum… who cares

I called the owner/mfg yesterday and got the distributorship on these. I hope to sell them to Gander Mountain… so that way, you can go to your favorite “HUNT/FISH/CAMP” super store and get them and find the fuel…. meantime… I am selling them here on EFN thru B-Fish-N Tackle Co.

It may take James a bit of time to get the Multi Heater loaded into the EFN Outlet Store… so those interested will need to phone in your order to me. Unit is $125.00 (comes with one fuel container) and extra fuel is $4.00 a container, shipping is $8.50 (add MN sales tax if you reside in MN).

Wish this had been here before Christmas, would have made a cool gift to any sportsman….

Oh yea, a super cool thing I discovered! With a tiny bit of modifaction… I can fit my Vexilar unit under the seat for transport !!

    Sportsman’s Multi Heater

    Cook Book .

Biscuits, bacon, sausage and eggs with cheese… if you please .

I cooked breakfast for me and the kids today…

    outside in my back yard!

It was a huge success. Here is the process I tried. It worked out… just great.

Fire up the heater…. takes 10 seconds.

Use the heavy guage steele “cake rack” to support the biscuits pan (this keeps your buscuits off the hot griddle). Lower the pre-buttered 8 1/2″ pan of the canned biscuits (I used the buttermilk kind and smaller less expensive style) onto the rack. Bake for 30 minutes. Use the long metal “tongs” to remove biscuits pan and rack. Place pan of bacon and sausage into stove’s griddle. Place rack on top, then biscuits pan over the rack & meat pan. Fry/bake for 10 minutes, then turn over meats to cook/brown other side. Cook 10 minutes more. Remove biscuits and reac, crack two eggs into the meat pan.

Check the lower pan ocasionally to see that you are not over cooking your eggs…. Last minute or two, add your slice of cheese over the eggs….. and wa-la…. done.

Remove when done, and go to “Hoggie Hog-heaven”…. Great fun and very good eats!

Hey… I could do this in the boat

Very good food, done well… to a “T”, and nothing got burned!

The oven thermometer got up to about 285 degrees at the top of the stove (…I kept taking off the seat to inspect so the temp. could have got even higher) but the griddle surface was hot enough to fry bacon and sausage! This griddle will boil water… no problem.

    Hum…. This afternoon….

Baked chicken with wild rice… would be nice

I was over to pick up a supply of Kick Bass this afternoon and got to help dave rehearse his “Infomercial”.
    That think is vary cool.
I’m thinking I may pick on up to take along when I go ATVing. start it in when we leave the trailer and have a hot lunch when we get back. Maybe able to put it right on the wheeler and just stop on the trail for a rest stop.
Thanks Dave for the demo. ( and the help on drop shot rigging)
