Hey Bob, When you say a step down do you mean less features, lower price, cheaper made, or just a good real for someone who can’t afford the SG27 model? I guess my question is why is it different than the other one as I haven’t seen it yet. Thanks Bob, Bill
I can’t find the reel on any website, but my guess is the size of the reel is the big difference. I’ll keep looking to see if I can come up with more info.
It looks like its 2 ounces lighter, which could be the difference in the single paddle handle vs the double paddle one. Its $5.00 cheaper. I found that the $12 Shakespeare line counter that attaches to the rod works well and can be moved easily to other rods. Whats with the Shimano Stella priced from $489 to $699?? That is way out of my budget, its a reel for crying out loud!!!
Bill, the new sealine model sells for $84 and is listed as “the new more compact” Daiwa also has a cheaper model now out the AccuDepth it’s starting price is $54…………
I finally got the cabelas mag in the mail this weekend. I checked out those Accudepths. They may be a good alternative for a rod or application that doesn’t get used much, like a lead core setup for me. I just may have to try one out.
