Coleman Lantern problem

I have 2 coleman lanterns that burn the white gas. These are both by light source and my heat source in my
shack. The last couple years the smell has really got to me. I can’t hardly stand it. I have plenty of ventilation.
My question is — is there a way to make the lantern burn cleaner? They are a few years old and maybe I need to
do some maintenance on them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

There are battery operated laterns!! Although I guess it will cost more to run because of battery maintenance. I fished with one once and would have traded my propane coleman for it!! The battery operated aren’t as bright as the propane burners…but I haven’t used a lantern yet this year. The light off the vexilar and heater have done fairly well….and possibly hasn’t spooked as many shallow fish.
