If you really want to see some stagering numbers, you could start with how many crankbaits do you have. I’d be guilty of over 300. I’m sure there are folks with more.

As for rods, I’m in the 20 range.

I have a personal rule: never numerically inventory tackle! I guess for the sake of the site, I can inventory rods, but NEVER crankbaits!

    4 Trolling rods
    4 Pitching rods
    4 Jigging rods
    4 Rigging rods
    8 “multi purpose” rods
    1 Polelining rod
    1 Surf rod
27 Misc. rods used for kids fishing derbys, etc.
I don’t think the 27 should really count in MY PI, so 26, I think.
    Crankbaits- never enough.

So what should your PI ratio be to your age? Or isn’t it an age thing??

PI ratio to time spent on the water?

….to number of species fished for??

    ….to members in your family?

    What would Joe do???

I think I’ll ask him! Tune in to 1500!

I broke a rod last fall up on Winnie. I was so worried about it I bought 3 new ones to offset the loss.

The 48-Hour Rule or “You Had Your Chance” This rule was established on March 5, 2002 and is as follows: As a reward for a fellow sneaking new fishing poles and reels into the Crisis Center and also escaping any female wrath that might accrue from said purchase, the fellow may make up any story he wishes after 48 hours regarding the acquisition. In other words, she gets 48 hours to notice the purchase and complain. If she misses her window, you are home free.

“This old thing,’’ you might say, when, after a week, she finally does notice, “that thing has been here since July.’’

Dont ask dont tell, We better watch out some of us have beed spending alot time at Everrets rod rack, we might have to start paying him off to keep him from going to the better halves

    22 rods and counting.

Crankbaits I have no idea, somewhere between 500-600 if I had to guess. I know that I’ve lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 75-100 this year.

What? Brian…you don’t have one of Dean’s shorty lead core rods yet!??

You would think some of you guys live in Mississippi where they can fish 33 rods at a time!

Brian why did you have dig this post back up from the depths. So I’ve made a count.

    4-lead
    4-trolling
    10-spinning
    4-ultralight
    3-spincasting
    4-baitcasters
    8-ice rods
    6-tipup’s
    total 43

I tried to avoid the count but something kept pulling me back to this post & that I still would like to get some more rods.

Mark, your excuse is you have a larger family…you can’t leave anyone home because you don’t have enough rods! That wouldn’t be fair!

Life1978…that’s what Mark said too back when he had 71 posts. I figure for every 150 posts a person should buy a new rod. For every 1000 posts….a new St Croix!
