What’s your PI?

18 summer, 8 ice, 6 tip-ups, 0 snoopy rods, and one 2 piece ugly stick I’ve kept from my youth that was originally a one piece ugly stick. When I was 12 I was showing a buddy how you could bend them in a circle like they did on the TV commercials and it broke in half. It was my dad’s rod and he made me keep it as a reminder of what not to do with your father’s new fishing poles. 28 years later, it still reminds me and I still laugh about it. I can’t count that rod as part of my PI though.

Does anyone recall the ruling from the Mayor of Garage Logic on salvage yards…do they count? I think they would…

    Hey Better Half!

I’m having a hard time LINKING a PI to SI (shoe index)…there doesn’t seem to be any coralation here…as some better halves have way more of a SI ratio to PIs than others.

Now I can see a direct link from “time spent on the water/in the field” to a SI.

Best thing to do though is keep your closet door closed.

Hello, My name is Joe, an I’m a roddaholic……..
First I have to qualify this. I build rods as a hobby..(a bad thing for a roddaholic) At last count I have 63 long rods, and 24 ice rods….but I only carry about 15 in the boat at a time.
I hope someday I can say I am a “Recovering Roddaholic”

Wow, you guys are worse than me. I have been steadily replacing everything I have with Loomis. I get three program rods a year. All told if you want to count ice rods and tip-ups, I have to be up around 60.

Do ice rods sitting on the bottom of lake count if I know exactly where they are??????

You can’t count the rod at the bottom of Sandy. How did that happen again ….bye bye Sweetheart Rod. That must have been one of those 1.5lbs gills

Hi. My name is Mike and I dont own anough fishing poles. 4 pitching, 4 trolling and one I won this summer with no reel on it. Also 2 panfish ice poles.

What I want, 4 more pitching rods, 2 rigging, 2 3way rods, a catfish rod, 2 surf rods and a large game ocean rod. This should be a good start.

On a side note. Just counted 28 pairs of shoes for the wife and that was just a glance across the room. I dont understand. May need to go fishing to deal with this.

Just went downstairs for a quick count. I came up with 33 plus 4 tip ups. That doesn’t include rods I have given to the grand kids. Im curious about firearms. My last count was 63 long guns and 7 handguns. I also have around 40 knives and about 3000 rounds of ammo. Be Prepared!!

That is why I have so many, guided in SD, 4 lines a piece. When you have a group of 8 or 10, that is A LOT of tip-ups. By the time I get the last one set, I start taking them down for the night

Someware in the neghborhood of 37ish. Gave about a dozen away this summer and the kids have broken a couple in the last year. But I do have a couple new ones spoted that would look good laying in my boat among the 20+ thats already in there.

And Yes I’m in denial, I”M NOT A RODAHOLIC

Nice post BK , got me to thinking too. I know there are 8 in the boat, and a quick glance at the rack in the basement shows 7 more. If memory serves ice rods bring total PI to 21. That doesn’t even make a dent in the scrapbooking stuff that is over-running our family room

I have 10 for soft water, 11 if I can count the trolling rod that my Brother In-law hasn’t picked up since our trip to Canada in July. (when can I claim ownership on this?) 6 tip ups, 6 ice pole combos. So I guess, 22-23 would be my PI.

Steve, I believe ownership takes place after one year of storage…unless he’s hiding it from his wife…then ownership begins immediatly. What’s he going to do, complain to his wife??

I may be the lowest, but these rods see HIGH usage, my PI is 4, with two seeing 90% of the action. Hopefully i can pick up one more setup before hard water sets in.
