I tried to post this earlier, not sure why it didn’t work. This pic makes me happy that Daunte demanded to leave Minnesota. I don’t miss his lack of leadership and multiple turnovers. The Dolphin fans are already chanting for Joey Harrington to replace Daunte, unbelievable.

Yah, I was a Daunte fan when he was wearing Purple. The guy brought some excitement to the QB position, especially in the 2004 season. He just seems to have lost all confidence when he is rushed by a good defense. I have a confidence in Brad johnson, he won’t put 35 points on the board every week, but he doesn’t turn the ball over multiple times in a game. The media sure hyped up Miami for a big run this year, just like they did to the Purple before last season.
September 18, 2006 at 3:38 pm #479958Brad Johnson: 2 – 0
Daunte Culpepper: 0 – 2Enough said!
Maybe there is something to the fact that Daunte can’t read defenses! That and the fact he doesn’t have “The Freak” to throw to anymore! Yesterdays pick he threw…what was he thinking? He had to get it past two Bills players to hit his receiver. I don’t care what you say, Brad is a better QB hands down!
September 18, 2006 at 5:19 pm #480036I’ll have to admit I was a pepper/moss supporter. But Dain-tee seems to have his head in his still.
September 18, 2006 at 5:24 pm #480038And I wonder how Moss is liking Oakland right now. PF=6 PA=55. WOW! Enjoy Oakland Randy.
September 18, 2006 at 5:46 pm #480049Just a pic to thank the Packler organization. We really like Longwell in Purple.
Heck of a call by Childress and company, the fake field goal was perfect.
September 18, 2006 at 6:21 pm #480063Bad news for the Vikings, Erasmus James out for the year with a torn ACL.
September 18, 2006 at 7:28 pm #480082The Eagles lost Kerse for the year as well. I cant believe they blew that game. I bet Ms.Mcnabb is hung over on Chunky Soup today..
September 18, 2006 at 8:38 pm #480103Vikings Fake FG??? I missed that few plays of the game while I was geting my rubber boots on. What happened exactly?
September 18, 2006 at 9:57 pm #480128Coach Fox of the Panthers called the biggest bonehead play of the year when on a punt return, Chris Gamble tried an across the field overhand lateral that fell miserably short and was recovered by the Vikes in good field position. The Vikes could not punch it in and lined up for an apparent field goal attempt. The snap ended up in Longwells hands and he threw his first touchdown pass (16 yards) ever to TE Richard Owens who caught his first pass this year. Longwell was responsible for all 19 of the Vikes points.
VikeFanPosts: 525September 18, 2006 at 10:30 pm #480146I too was a Culpepper supporter from his arrival in Minnesota, and maintained that his horrible play last season was due to bad offensive line play and poor play-calling. It is starting to look like it may have been all about Moss after all, given that Culpepper has started out his year in Miami right where it left off in Minnesota, with lots of QB mistakes. Johnson over Culpepper is looking better and better all the time.

Yeah, and his mommy had to spoon feed him.
September 18, 2006 at 11:04 pm #480158I’m an “ok” Pepper supporter…I know this, he is good with kids, even remembers my son’s name year in and year out when we go to football camp…here is a pic last year at a vikings practice in Mankato…always has time for the kids…just can’t read a “D”

If there were some dumb things in life, that was it. Why would you let an outstanding kicker go?
2Fishy4UPosts: 973September 19, 2006 at 1:44 am #480213Or for that matter their two starting offensive guards and their center. Names are Wahle, Rivera nd Flanagan.
From a Packer fan.
September 19, 2006 at 1:49 am #480215Viking fans get ready for a pounding next weekend by my monsters of the midway the CHICAGO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 19, 2006 at 2:07 am #480222You Vikes fans should go easy on us Packer backers. If we ship you 3 or 4 more players you might even make it to the Superbowl.
September 19, 2006 at 2:24 am #480228When all the Packer fans, and the Vikings fans talk about what happened and what didn’t happen in the past, they tend to forget that the teams that take the field now are not those same teams that did and didn’t do…whatever. Today, the team that takes the field for the Packers, isn’t a good team, the world knows that, on the other hand, the team that takes the field for the Vikings is a decent team(maybe), unproven, and lucky to be 2-0. Lets wait until the end of the year, then we can say that the two teams did this or that, until then it’s “my dog is better than your dog”.
September 19, 2006 at 11:05 am #480266Being a long time Viking fan, history has taught me that you don’t win a championship in week 2 of the NFL season. I am just happy the Purple has started the year 2-0. They seem to have a different attitude this year.
September 19, 2006 at 11:09 am #480267i’m with you honda. the vikes are 2-0 against two playoff teams? well neither of those two playoff teams from a year ago had their best players when minnesota beat them this year – clinton portis of the skins and steven smith of the panthers – and if they dont come back soon, there will be no playoffs for 0-2 washington and carolina this year.
September 19, 2006 at 11:23 am #480269The Bears look like they are for real this year. This week is by far the toughest test for the Vikings this year. I guess if the Bears win, the Purple fans can say the Bears didn’t face the best Viking team, considering Erasmus James is now out for the season. You Bears fans can give the Vikings a little credit for winning two games they were supposed to lose.
VikeFanPosts: 525September 19, 2006 at 11:51 am #480273It’s a little early for Bear fans to reserve Super Bowl tickets. They are 2-0 after beating the Kittens and the Cheddarheads–two teams everyone agreed were not going to be competitive this year. The Vikings are 2-0 after playing teams that at least looked good on paper in the pre-season. The Panthers competely shut down the Bears offense last January, and Steve Smith does not play much cornerback.
September 19, 2006 at 1:17 pm #480294The Bears scored 21 points in that game so how do you figure they shut them down???? The shins have looked bad this season and the panthers havent looked that good either only beating the kitties by 3. Roll on BEARS
September 19, 2006 at 9:58 pm #480452Minnesota is lucky they are 2 and 0. they should be 1-1 got very lucky there was not any impressive playing out there in my mind. Detroit has the best defense between the packers, vikings and lions. Yet the bears still scored 34 points on them.
September 19, 2006 at 10:30 pm #480460I have not been a Football fan for very long maybe 96 so I can not account to what happened in prior years but since then at least the Vikes have had a chance every year, LIONs well we all know how long its been, Bears the last two years good prior not a chance. And we all know its going to be a long time before the pack have a winning season again
