Del Thompson loves to hunt muskies and to get to see his son catch his first muskie would be icing on the cake.Well it happened and here are his words….

The first one is my son’s

first and biggest muskie, 48 inches. He caught this one on his favorite lure, a

white Marv’s spinnerbait at Eagle Lake right at dusk. This was quite a catch

when you consider that we didn’t have a musky net, only a walleye net !! I

tried to land this fish with only its head in the net. The net broke at the

yoke, so I quickly gilled her and got her into the boat. Since it was his first

musky, he was a little intimidated about holding her in the gills, so he settled

for holding her as seen in the photo.

More from Del Thompson……The last picture is my son’s (Nick)

second musky caught at Lac Seul. Notice the coloring of this 44 inch fish !

Again he caught her on the same lure previously mentioned, but this time, he was

quite comfortable holding her for a good picture.

Thanks for sharing your pics Del !!

He now has the dreaded musky fever. But what a great lifetime “illness” to have. Great job.

Once you get the “fever” it never goes away …
