Well let’s see… 1978 huh? That is a long time ago. I must have been somewhere around 21 years old and starting my senior year of college. That would mean that in 1978 I was a lean, mean, partying sex machine with absolutely no common sense and screwed up priorities. Ah, life was good back then.

Me and Putz don’t remember the ’70’s. As far as we know one day it was Dec 31st 1969 and the next day it was Jan 1 1980.

Wow! Is that a game fish I see Brian with. Don’t let all of your catfish friends see that.
I was 10 years old and riding my bike to all the local lakes to fish as much as I could.

I would have been 10, and spending most of my day either out in the boat or on the dock fishing or swimming. Or I might have been squirrel hunting, out in the woods. Man, those were the days….

I had been married for 3 years, and had just earned my second 2 week vacation. My wife and I enjoyed our time in the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone. Mmmm, scrambled eggs and trout for breakfast. When we returned, I get called into the boss’ office and asked if I remembered ‘running into’ Frank Schneider while I was on vacation. I had forgotten , but the boss and Frank went back a ways, I guess we made a good impression.

I decided to take a look at the rest of the country and took off to Florida on RD200 Yamaha bike (yes a 200 street bike),2 1/2 days later I was on the sands of Key West Florida enjoying the sounds of Molley Hatchet and Ted Nugent It was a benifit concert for something
Stayed there for 9 months then started my way back home to Mn
    The rest is history

Starting my sixth year of teaching, after 6 years in “The Corps”, and after 4 years of college. I think that was the year I got my masters degree, and applied for my doctoral program. Doing this with my wife and two kids…..I think I was pretty busy in 1978.

Falling down on the playground to look up skirts….and spending a lot of time after school with the principal.

Glad I grew out of that!

I was 11, and it was the first year my dad let me take out the boat by myself.
The boat was a 1976 centennial edition Ranger Bass boat. So I am sure I was raising he-double hockey sticks out on the Whitefish chain.

I was 8 and in school. Besides that I either was fishing up at the lake or playing Hot Wheels out on the wall surrounding my house. But I know I was not worried about gas prices or any other kind of bills at that time of my life.

Enjoying the beautiful wilds of Alaska and trying to figure out why nurses were only interested in jet jockeys that I had to keep saluting and calling sir.
