That’s what I see on Bret Favre’s face during today’s game. If they can’t fix what’s wrong, it could be a VERY long season for the Green & Gold.

I am excited to see how the Vikes start out tomorrow night.

It’s going to be odd watching 2 games on Monday night.

No “Touch” on his passes. He looks really bad. I have him playing on my Fantasy team right now as a back-up due to Rothlisburger being out.

When I saw the headline in “Todays topics” I knew what this “topic” was going to be The only other possibility would have been my reaction to the game. The only bright spots were the running of Green and the defense————-less the secondary

I am not quite as down on the Pack, including Favre, but being a Packer Fan for fifty years this one was tough to watch. The interceptions came a bit late, and yes there could have been a few more. However, if any one noticed with 9 minutes left on the first half Brett had thrown 2 passes, both completions. At the end of the half he was either 5 for 5 or 5 for 6.

My concern regarding the Pack is there starting over on the coaching end and Mike McCarthy as an offensive coordinated has never played for a winner except the Pack. Last year, believe it or not the Pack defense ranked 7th in the NFC, not bad for a unit that had to deal with the highest number of turnovers in GB history. So they let defensive coordinator Jim Bates go, along with Mike Sherman who had winning seasons in all but last year. The purpose apparently was to hire a bunch of coaches that have never worked in a winning program, aside from Green Bay. Head coach McCarthy was an assistant one year when the Pack went 10-6.

The players are young, 28 new guys, but my concern is not the lack of player talent, but the sorry state of the coaching staff.

Please don’t take offense if the whole country enjoys seeing the Packers take the fall this year.
Most of the country and all of Minnesota is real tired of hearing how good Farve is, how great the Pack is ect.ect.

They like every other team in the division is bad, Bears, Vikings and Lions included. Trust me when I say it’s not the coaching, it’s the talent. They don’t have enough.

Personally the only reason I have any interest in the games is to see if anybody will have the guts to run T.O. out of Dalles & pro football all together once he destroys the Cowboys. Just as he has destroyed the other two teams he played with.

The other reason will be to see the Pack go down.

FYI, i’m not a Viking fan either.

going to be a LONG year.
when we going fishing there, buddy? You have those runs saved off from last year? No reason they shouldn’t be there again.

What will be greater? The number of Packer wins or the cube root of Favre’s interceptions.

SteveO, believe me when I tell you the SCR trolling runs are safe. He sleeps with that “chip” under his pillow along with the Glock 9mm. During the day he carries it on his shoulder! Ooops,a clarification is in order, shoulder holster that is!

I just heard on the FAN that they have a reliable source saying Favre may hang it up. Don’t shoot the messenger. Don’t know if its credible or not. I would guess not, just relaying what I heard. If it is, you heard it on IDA first.

I don’t think he’ll quit on them after the first game. It just wouldn’t fit his personality. I think he would have quit before the season started rather than jumping ship now.

GB will need at least 4 wins to be reasonably safe, not totally safe mind you, but reasonably safe!

I agree, SteveO, I just do not see that in his character! I do believe he will rue the day he decided on another season! A bad decision, imho, that has the potential to further tarnish a truly superb career!

The team would have been much better off if he had made his decision much earlier than he did. They couldn’t do anything in the FA market until he decided if he was going to come back or not. So if he has to suffer as a result, then so be it, he made the bed, now he can sleep in it.

As a Viking fan, I’m going to just sit back and enjoy watching him, and the rest of the team, suffer….. because of him.

The Bears are a bad football team, do you actually watch football or are you just an agitator. For the record I am and will always be a Packer fan but the Bears looked as good as I have seen them in a long time. I thought having there defense on my fantasy team would put the jinx on em but I guess not.

From another Packer Fan, the Bears look great, albeit it was only one game. If Rex Grossman stay healty I don’t see any team in the NFC North that can compete with them.

With that said the Pack is a bit better then the score indicated and I would not be suprised if they beat and finished ahead of the Vikes this year.

It IS gonna be a long year for the Favrester. Before the season even kicked off, I wrote down a prediction: he won’t finish the season in GB. He’ll probably be on the bench, dejected, instead of being traded.

I’m a HARDCORE RAIDAHS fan, but I’ve always liked Favre. But I was disappointed to see how he used the media this summer….is he retiring or not? He just can’t decide. I think he drug some of it out on purpose. But I said the whole time, him coming back would be a real bad thing, and I think that’ll be proven this fall. He’ll be the poster boy for “hanging around too long” and not retiring.

You guys don’t have nothing on my favorite team, the Broncos
If there was a football follies DVD available, they had enough footage on their own to make a whole movie…in 1 game

When the Packers let their best offensive linemen go last year, did not draft or sign quality replacements for those linemen, and drafted Rodgers it was pretty clear the organization was moving on from the Favre era…but Favre didn’t seem to notice, and held the franchise hostage for the last two off-seasons. This had the effect of preventing the Packers from starting from scratch and building a new team with a new identity.

One theory has it that Favre wanted to be traded this past spring, but tried to force the Packers to do it so he wouldn’t make the fans mad. The team pretty obviously had moved on, but didn’t want to catch the Cheddarheads’ wrath for letting their hero go. So, Favre and the Packers are stuck with each other for one more year. Favre ruined the two Viking-Packer games I attended at Lambeau (1999 and 2000), so the possibility of a 3-13 nightmare of a final season for Favre with the Packers makes me warm and fuzzy all over. As a bonus, with Favre stuck on a bad team this year and presumably retired after the season, I won’t have to deal with John Madden’s man-crush on # 4.

As for the Bears, we will know more about whether they just looked good because the Packers are so bad, in two weeks after they play at Minnesota.

There may be hope for the Packers after all–ESPN.com is reporting that they have come to terms with Koren Robinson. Yup, that Koren Robinson (hick).

I also just learned that with his two INTs yesterday, Favre has 257 for his career, which puts him just twenty picks shy of George Blanda’s all-time NFL record for most career INTs. If Favre isn’t benched or traded, he should knock Blanda out of first place before Christmas–possibly before Thanksgiving.

Speaking of stats, Brett is also only 25 touchdowns shy of Dan Marinos record, take the good with the bad. As for Robinson they probably just did it because they are going to release him since they know the Vikes cant resist signing ex packers

To show I am not just kicking the Pack when they are down, at halftime of the Vikings-‘skins game, I’ve got to say out loud that Troy Williamson definitely reminds me of Qadry Ismail–blazing speed, stumps for hands. I thought it all through his rookie season, and tonight the comparison is a little scary.

I would bet on Favre reaching Blanda’s record before he reaches Marino’s–if he reaches Marino at all.

Probably because GB got bumped again, although they did look respectable in defeat. BF not quite so generous as he has been with only 1 pic!

When I tuned in, they were up 13-0. I had to step out for a while and then when I turned the tube back on, they were down 13-20. 20 unanswered points on any team isn’t good. Favre did have his moments. I love watching the guy when he’s dialed in. There’s no one better. Driver has been a machine. Hopefully he can stay healthy. I just wish Favre would throw more passes to Jennings. He’s on my FF Team.
