Acorn in Chevy Motor Update

A few weeks ago I posted a question about whether or not to remove an acorn that had fallen into my chevy blazer’s motor. After considering all of the advice to pull the motor and remove the acorn, I checked in with a buddy of mine who is a mechanic and he told me not to worry about it. So after a few sleepless nights and looking into how much work it was to remove the motor from the truck, I decided to leave the acron in the motor. When I finished replacing hte head gaskets and starting the truck for the first time, there was no problem. I have put on about 150 miles since the acorn fell in and have had no problems with the motor so far. I’m hoping leaving the acorn in the motor does not come back to haunt me, but with bow season coming up and the walleye bite starting to heat back up, I figured I rather spend my time fishing and hunting rather than working on my truck.

cav90, if this works out for you, maybe you’ve discovered a “new additive” to keep engines running longer and better… hope it keeps working for ya.

I was wondering what ever happened to this. I could see an acorn not causing too much damage, a walnut may be a different story though.
