trolling plate

    I am thingking on putting a trolling plate on my 50hp Mercury 4 stroke. Has anyone had problems after drilling into their fin on their lower unit to install anything?

    Nope. I had a trolling plate on my motor for 3 years. Took it off for the last 2 years and still no problems.

    I put a trolling plate on my 50 h.p. merc 4 stroke and it was wonderful. No problems what so ever. I would not hesitate to put one on. I also took it on and off depending what kind of fishing I was going to do and did not notice anything.
