He was fun to watch. I’ll miss him.

I always figured it was going to be a snake or croc that got him. Stingray?

Mother Nature lost a good friend. He was a great conservationist. It’s very sad to hear.

I always enjoyed Irwin’s show as well. He was both entertaining and informative.

According to one of the stories I read on Steve Irwin’s death, this was almost a “freak” occurence in that stingray stings are very painful, but almost never fatal. In this case, the strike hit him directly in the heart, and probably killed him instantly.

Not to compare the two men, but the news of the croc hunter’s demise was no more surprising to me than was the news that Timothy Treadwell was eaten by a grizzly. In both cases, you knew something like this was going to happen. The difference between the two men is that Steve Irwin understood the risks and the nature of the animals he worked with, but was fearless almost to the point of insanity (which was part of his entertainment value), while the “grizzly man” had some serious delusions about the natural world, and his role in it.

The guy was crazy and a blast too watch. I loved it when he had a snake by it’s tail and talking on and on about how one strike could kill him.

You can’t say he didn’t go out doing something that he loved.

AnimalPlanet had a 1/2 hour special on him. Many were surprised at how many teenagers were drawn to the show. Not only was he entertaining but extremely educational as well. He will be missed dearly from our household as well.
    I wish his family well.

When I told my son he didn’t beleive me right away, he said no way. Then he turn on the TV and seen what had happened. He came out of his room with a tear in his eye. First words out of his mouth I want to go see his zoo down under. Sure wish I could afford that for him.

My prayers go out to his family.

As sad as it is that he is gone, that man did more living in 44 years than the rest of us will likely do in our lifetimes.
