Well with the weather the way it was yesterdayi decided to find something to do. I was looking at a peice of pine and had an idea! I looked online to see how cranks were made and found some good info. i made a shallow diving bass crank i still have to put the bill and hooks on and paint it up but i like the body shape. heres what i have so far. I think ill get into this more in the winter, along with pouring my own plastics. How many other guy on IDA have done this?

Looks like fun. Maybe I’ll give it a try this winter. Make sure you post a picture of the final product.

I’ve made quite a few. I make the lips out of plexiglass, and attach the lips using toothpick segements as plugs. I haven’t made any recently, but the ones i did make were deep diver shad rap style. I could have done a better job carving, and they needed some tuning to run good, but i think i was 14-15 when i did them, i’ve learned a lot since then, i think.
