Just an FYI of a program I started and teach.

Here is the graduation picture from the second “Fishing Tree” youth fishing class, August14 through 17 at the Spring Grove Aquatic Center. The students are, L to R, Logan Deschler, Peter Zaffke, Randi Mehus, Mitchell Anderson, Isaac Zaffke. Missing from the picture is Rachell Mehus. The kids each got new Shakespeare Fishing poles, lures from Rat-L-Trap, Culprit, Stanley, Mizmo, a Johnson & Johnson first aid kit, B.A.S.S. shirts/hats, a new tackle box and lots of fishing supplies. The students learned to identify many types of fish, casting, water safety, types of lures, abouth cath and release, and fish habitats. Some of the highlights of the week were the casting competition on Wednesday, won by Mitchell Anderson, and learning to Texas Rig a plastic worm. All pictures and supporters are listed on http://www.thefishingtree.com The instructor for the class was Rob Gross, (aka Yattering Jack) Spring Grove, MN. If you are interested in additional classes, private class, or fishing guide information, call Rob at 507 429 0456 or visit the above website.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words. Some of the biggest smiles I got were from a previous class when a 5 year old boy explained to his father the difference between a Walleye and a Sauger. His dad was amazed. Also, this recent class, one of the girls did a fair project on how to identify Northern, Muskie and Tiger Muskie. She got Grand Champion and a trip to the MN State Fair. I am a proud teacher.
