After giving up on the other “less friendly” site I would like ask a question here.

I have been spending the summer working a job in Superior WI and as that comes to close I would like to go on a charter boat out on Lake superior.

Would anyone have any suggestions on what my best plan of action might be. Thanks!!

    Welcome to IDA!

I’ve heard good reports of Two Sisters Guide Service…but they are out of Grand Maris.

Steve Vick lives up in Duluth and works at Gander Mt. I’m sure he’ll have some good suggestions for you. All tha tguy does is talk fishing all day so he’s bound to come across info about the big lake.

I’ll send him the link to this post by PM just to make sure he doesn’t miss it. He’ll check in later tonight I’m sure.

    Welcome to the IDA family.

I used to live in Duluth and never did take a charter out. I can admit to a little friendly tail-piping though at times.

Being a resident, I thought if I was going to out with them a good way to scout would be go down the docks and see who’s bring in what.

Usually if I was around the docks the 30 something taps at Old Chicago were beckoning me.

Steve Vick is going to be a good resource for you.

I know there’s a lot of charters out of Duluth. Try this one http://www.hanglooseduluth.com/ . I know they’ll take out a two person half a day charter for $300. I’d try to find at least one more person to go, if not more. They will fish for Walleyes, Kings, Rainbows, Lakers and more. Just ask

Also, they may be able to set you up with a group that’s allready going to save everybody some cash. Give them a call, the worst they can do is say no. I do know that they do fish the Superior, WI side of things.

I have not been on a charter…yet, but I have heard lots of good things about this one. http://alakesuperiorfishingcharter.com/

I always liked the idea of just going down to where the charter boats are docked and seeing what each boat brings in for the day. I was in Two Harbors last weekend, and there were lots of people bringing in limits of lake trout, so there are fish being caught. Let us know how you do if you go out, and let me know if you have anymore questions. Steve Vick
