I got into a discussion the other day, and was wondering if, and when, we “US Guy’s” will need passports to enter Canada. I thought it was cut and dried, that it was going to happen this year. Now, I hear that it is not finalized yet. What are the true facts?
I know if anybody would know, it would be the folks here on IDA!
    Thanks for the help.

Hope this helps. It is off the State Department website.

We just returned from fishing in Canada on Sunday and were told that drivers licenses were ok this year but passports would be needed next year. Don’t know the switchover date though.

    Hey Putz,
Did you notice much anti-American sentiment when you were up there, or has that settled a bit? I was up last fall, stopped at a few beer-joints in Thunder Bay and it was THICK! The outfitters were fine, but the general public, from what I could tell, weren’t too happy with us living in the “Land of the Free”! Going to British Columbia this fall on a hunt and all I have to say is if I witness the attitude I witnessed last fall, it will be the last penny I spend in Canada…..as much as I will miss the hunting up there I just can’t support a country with my dollars that feels so strongly against Americans.

The problem with Canada is all they hear is Liberal filth, you know- Everthing about America is wrong and bad. The goverment wont even allow TV or radio to broadcast Fox news. So all they hear is the left slant- so thats what you get if thats all they hear. Other than Australia and the British they are very few country’s left that arent “left”

Actually, we took the Temple Bay Lodge bus to Eagle Lake. We didn’t have any contact with the ‘outside world’ and the folks at the lodge were definately happy to see us there spending our American dollars.
