Why in the *&$^% do they have their first round pick running down the field on special teams in preseason? I hope his knee isn’t that bad. Didn’t Tice get fired?

Brian, my question is: If the entire team had jointed #5 Shad Raps, and they threw them in a bucket of water, would the raps float, or would the team be involved in a sex scandal before anyone could find out?

The raps would float but we would probably had 50% of the team on injury reserve!

Hey hey hey No need to get your panties in a wad.

And you Pcker fans, don’t get your boxers in a wad either.

Just as soon as the Vikes loose a few games and the cold harsh reality of yet another year without a Lombardi trophy sets in. (They call it that to honor the greatest coach ever) You folks who love purple will be bashing the team faster than you can count to 0.

You see, realistically the Pack probably won’t make it to the playoffs this year either, but hey. In all the years we have won a championship, all the seasons we have won the big game, gone all the way to the big show, we STILL havent LOST the big game FOUR TIMES.

No bashing from this Viking fan. I will even stick with my club if the have a wonderful season like Bert and company did last year, 4-12. It’s nice to have football back again, but that means summer is coming to an end. Should be an interesting year in the NFC North.

Am I the only one who thinks that Childress kind of looks like a shorter version of Shaw Grigsby?

    Just wondering.

Lots of new players and coaches, totally new system, first home game. Waaay to early.. The defensive line just about rolled the black and sliver into the seats.

I’m a huge Packer fan. That said, the Viking looked MUCH more prepared in their first pre-season game than the Pack did.

I was very disappointed in the way the new Green Bay coach prepped his squad in San Diego. Going to be a long year and I hope Favre doesn’t literally get killed this season. I’m serious. Killed as in dead.

Ya Steve, from what I have seen from the Packer game, Favre will be running for his life this year. But, having Favre back there still gives the Cheeseheads the best chance at winning. It should be an interesting season.

SteveO, it would appear you have significantly lowered you expectation of an 8 and 8 season for the Pack. My sad prediction is that Bret will rue the day he decided to play another season. Long before the season is over he will know the ‘exhilaration’ of running with the bulls in Pamplona!

It’s going to be a long season in Cheddarland when Tarvaris Jackson has a better pre-season opener (no interceptions) than Brett Favre (one interception).

But hey, the Packer fans can always point to championships won eighty years ago. Plus, they can look forward to the first Packer game broadcast on NBC, when John Madden will explain that Favre’s three interceptions are not in any way Favre’s fault because of…Favre’s gunslinger mentality, Favre’s love of the game, Favre is just having fun out there, the receiver running the wrong route, the defender getting in the way of Favre’s pass, the relative humidity in the air, Favre won a Super Bowl ten years ago, the death of his daughter’s goldfish, war in the Middle East, and the moon’s gravitational pull.

The funniest thing is that I have actually heard announcers use the first seven excuses on that list to justify bone-headed throws by good old # 4. BTW, he is closing in on George Blanda’s all-time NFL record for most career interceptions thrown by a quarterback. Will that accomplishment be noted in the Packer Hall of Fame?

You’re kidding right? A coach in MN who finally has the seeds to do the right thing? Even if it means ticking some people off? To me this coach just shows that he “gets it”. He didn’t need anyone else hurt. If you paid for a full price ticket to a meaningless first pre-season game, than I could see your point. But even then, it’s only pre-season. Childress’ job is to get the team ready for Sept 11th. Not to win a meaningless game. He seems to be doing a pretty good job of getting them ready.

Actually it was nine years ago but its probably easy to dismiss past accomplishments when your team hasnt accomplished anything. That said I am not a Brett appolagist, I hope this new coach will have the stones to put him on the bench when he starts pulling his gunslinger act, maybe he will rethink some of those forced throws then.
