That’s a VERY nice interior. I’m not too fond of the front exterior though. It looks too bland for me.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the exterior is a Dodge. IMO

Saw an interview with a higher up at Chevy who freely admitted they looked at competitors and tried to mimic the features of each truck they liked the best.

They wanted to get the ride and quietness of Ford, the refinement and reliability of the Toyota, and the power and nimble handling of the Nissan. He didn’t mention Dodge, so maybe they copied the styling?? Actually sounded to me like a smart way to design a truck.

I love the looks of the truck. Bought a Silverado 2006 a few months ago and have really grown to like this truck. It was a toss-up between the Silverado and Ford F-150 nd I am happy I choose the former. My kid works for GM so if he has any additional info about the 2007 Silverado I will let you know.

Does anybody else long for the days of rubber floors and those lever things on the door that rolled up the windows? I can’t drive a new truck down a trail with trees scratching both sides, load the back with way too much gravel, or even enjoy a cup of coffee without worrying about major spillage. Oh well, I guess I will keep an old truck and a new minivan.

I can remember the 70 Chevy C-10 I learned to drive in, 3 on the tree, AM radio, dimmer switch on the floor, 350 V-8 that you could see ALL the way around, WOOD box floor with metal strips, and the gas tank was IN the cab right behind the seat, and those nice little wing windows on the door ahead of the main window. Wish I had one like it today, but they get just as much for a newer truck as they do a good 70.

Interior is nice but rminds me of a Ford.

Exterior made me vomit! Looks like a Dodge crossed with a 78 cheyenne.

I actually really like the new look! Thats why I purchased a 2007 Avalanche last week. It has that same interior as the Silverado will have. I love it! I loaded it up with Navigation, DVD, Back-up Camera, (which works awesome for backing up to a trailer/boat), Remote Start, and so on. Its the LTZ package. I think Chevy did a good job with the new look even if it is suppose to resemble another manufacturer.

Now if it would only get 30 mpg and wouldn’t cost me $90 to fill it up

Why didn’t you get a regular crew cab instead?

I traded in my 03 Avalanche and just wanted another.

The suspension is the same as the Suburban and it rides smoother than the Silverado. I traded in a Silverado on my 03 Avalanche. Plus I like all the lockable storage. I like the styling better….quite a few different reasons.

Never buy a first year vehicle, these trucks weren’t suppose to be out this soon in the first place and they are not very well made so far. In a year or so maybe they’ll be half as good as the 06. I speak to you as a Gm chevy mechanic. And if you bought one already good luck and thanks for the support!!! Get an ’06. Less power but faster, 06 is lighter, fuel economy will be about the same, yes I know, they (GM)lie. The 07 has all new wonderful electronics which is like linking 20 pcs together and praying none go down. We don’t even have training yet on this new system and it came out a few years ago.

Look…I am in the business also. I don’t agree with “Never buy a first year vehicle” theory. I buy the first year vehicle because I want the new features. I have always had good luck with Chevys and I am not too worried about this one either. I did a 2 yr lease so I won’t have it outside of factory warranty anyways. Why would I buy an 06 when my 03 was perfectly fine? Its exactly the same?? Now my 07 has so many new features and a new look…

Flares over the wheel wells are somewhat similar. Actually more similar to the Dakota, but a little less angluar. I still like the Dodge better as far as looks go.

I bought a 03 Expedition (the first year they came out). The early 03’s had a world of problems, but I found out by looking at the VIN there were A, B, or C designations, A being the first made, B after some changes, C after more changes. So I shopped at year end time and bought a C. Haven’t really had one problem with it, aside from brake pads that REALLY throw dust. So even within the model year, at least Ford, rectifies some first production issues.

I am 0-3 on first year vehicles, but never a Chevy. 2 Fords and a Nissan 350Z.

I did buy a 2006 Chevy Silverado and the discounts were hugh, almost 10,000 after the GM Card, paid in cash ($4,500 off) below invoice and a camper top with lighting for less then a grand.

As for the 2007 I did read it was rushed to production because of declining GM sales and has an entirely new computer system which is causing the GM engineers a few problems.

Of the three new models I bought only the Thunderbird was OK.

I know that GM rushed out the 2007’s because of declining sales but I am going to roll the dice! This was a deal that I couldn’t turn down! My Chevy’s have always been good to me.

They mighta sold more trucks if gm hadn’t have put that ugly front end on my ’05 silverado.

The styling is right back to where is SHOULD have been. I’m going to get rid of my “Edselverado” as soon as I can afford it.
