North Shore with Pix……

    OK.. a couple of you made me promise to shoot out some of my north shore pix from my last visit…. remember YOU asked for it.. and on tuesday Im leaving for a 3 week photo journey to alaska… so against the possibility I might end up like timothy treadwell… I will post them now…. these were all shot around grand marais.. I got a few nice sunset shot of the sawtooth mountains.. they are kinda similar… but I like them all…

    thanks everyone for all the comments…..
    and on the “bears r our friends” thought… yeah.. he did find that out… I read a book about the whole deal… the bear that killed him he referred to as something like Mr Meany… he never trusted it.. and supposedly he actually asked someone to “kill” it because he was afraid it was going to get him someday….. huh… guess he wasnt as naive as I thought….
    as for ME… Ive came face to face with a 600# black bear and after that I cant imagine what it must be like to face of an 800-1000# bear… *sheese*… but I do have a really long lens… and can get a pretty good shot from a ways away…. and I just dont have the bucks for those close up bear viewing deals….. they are pretty much $500/person or more… *ouch*….
    we are already dropping a pile on this trip…. in an attempt to “do it right”…
    we fly into seattle, take a shuttle to bellingham, take the ferry to skagway, then haines, then juneau…. fly to anchorage, rent an RV and head to denali, matanuska, cordova, whittier, seward, homer and the kenai penisula in general…. then we fly back home from anchorage…. all in 21 days…. busy, busy, busy….
