V MAX-VS-OPTIMAX

    HOPEFULLY SOMEONE CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION. IN 2000 WAS THE YAMAHA V MAX 175/200 A CARB. MOTOR? DID THEY MAKE HPDI AND WAS THAT THE FUEL INJECTED MOTOR?
    HAVE MERCURY OPTIMAX MOTORS ALWAYS BEEN FUEL INJECTED?
    ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED

    Yamaha has the Vmax as an OS66 which is an EFI system, and the HPDI.

    Optimax is always DFI.

    I believe they made atleast the ox66 which is fuel injected, they may have made a carb model in those Hp range.

    You can maybe look through This link to help you find out more about yamaha motors.

    Today,

    The ox66 fuel injected is now dead (05 was the last year) too, I believe there is only the carb model in the 150hp and hpdi models for the 150-300 range.
