When the temps get really hot like they were last week, and you have dogs in the kennel outside, do you take the hose and spray them down? Is this a good Idea, or not. I was going to spray them down, but feard that it my cool them off to fast, and then overheat afterwards. What do you think/do?

I was filling a 5 gallon bucket with water that was not real cold, and by time I filled it and carried it down to them it probabably warmed up a little more and I watched the dogs carefully and the did not seem to be having any side affects.(did I mention I poured it over them slowly)

I usually spray there hot spots with a hose. (Belly and paws.) When it’s good and hot the dog seems to like it. Never had any issues.

I have 2 goldens. 1 that is deathly afraid of water. 1 that I can’t keep out of water. I wash and spray my dogs down all the time. Especially after this high heat. They don’t seem to mind. Even the one that hates water finds refreshment in a good hosing on a real hot day.

Put out a little kiddy pool, most dogs love them!
