I usually go to Thorne Brothers in Fridley. They have a great staff of guys who build and repair rods. I do my own repairs and when I can’t get it done I go to them. You more than likely will have to strip the epoxy and threads off and retie a new guide on. It is very frustrating and time consuming to take guides off of factory made rods, and you have to be extremely careful of the rod finish.

It can be very hard to match the quality of your finish to the rest of the rod.

Good luck and I hope this helps point you in the right direction. I think there is a guy in Rochester that builds custom rods and he may do repairs too. Sorry don’t have a clue wha this name is, I think Briank has gotten a rod or two from him.

Tuck has two rods at Hooked on Fishing in Rochester and I have one St Croix there…

Mine has the same problem as your Jr.

Thorne Bros is good…but I like supporting our sponsors….and it gives me a chance to talk Mike out of the bass fishing boat phase he’s going through….

You guys are mostly out of my region to be able to help you out – any custom rod builder should be able to do a replacement and get the appearance close enough that only you would notice the difference… Chuckles
