Crawler harness

Minnesota regs say “Anglers may use only one hook. An artificial lure is considered one hook. A treble hook, when not part of an artificial lure, is considered three hooks and is not legal. The exception is three artificial flies may be used when angling for trout, crappie, sunfish, and rock bass”, My question is when using a crawler harness can you use one that has a single hook directly behind the spinner blade and then a treble hook 3-5 inches behind that one for use as a stinger. I know you can tie crawler harness’ using three hooks. But is the other method legal??

Yes, it’s legal. You can have 3, 4, or 5 trebbels if you wanted. As long as you have a blade, no problem. It a lure.

    That law makes no sense!

That is why when we fish tip ups you have to attach a little red spinner above your treble hook.
