    Please melt the ice.

    My favorite quote…

“If your idea of fun is having the sh*t scared out of you by a 30 lb fish striking a lure at boatside in complete darkness, you might be a Muskie Nut.”

“Hey dude, I…I….I…..I….Think I’m having one!!”

And that is followed up with a…………

“POW!!! WHACK!!!! or “BIPITY, BIPITY, BAMM!!! (my favorite)”

When he sets the hook………Great Entertainment!

That’s why they call it fishin’ and not catchin’ !!!

(After a long day on the water with no muskies to show for the effort.)

This one comes from a friend I still fish with and happened while catfishing rather late one night. My friend picked up a rod from the bottom of the boat, cast the line and chub 90 degrees west of the river into the trees on the bank and said:” sometimes you just gotta fish where they ain’t”…………..B

My son AJ to me at Mille Lacs:

“You said throw out the drift sock, not tie it to the boat first!”

His next comment from 3 Mile Reef was “How ’bout I just swim back from here?”

Do you remember that day? It was 95 degrees in the shade, and he kept jumping out of the boat! I was catching fish hand over fist in the honey hole, and he was doing flips out of the TS 172! Had to anchor ’cause my sock was gone!

    Go figure!

    Typical kid,

Does everything wrong(according to the book) and still catches fish!

That day would of really sucked if the wind hadn’t blown.

One of my favorite comments to a number of past, present and future customers that feel the weight of a good walleye chewin’ on a crawler etc., yet do everything but bury the hook…. (always said with a wink and a chuckle) “Hooksets are free. Since they’re included in the price of the trip, feel free to use all you want anytime the mood strikes you.”

I’ve had guys darn near shear rods in two after that little number!

While fishing with two friends on Millacs that happen to be brothers.. One boated a 28 inch eye, I made him release it. After a short, some what heated conversation about this, as he released it the other brother said…… (Grampa is rolling over in his grave right now). I thought they where both going to cry.

I was musky fishing with two friends one evening and it was basically dark out. I guess one buddy told his wife he would be home by dark and was getting concerned. He than said ” Guys, I told my wife I would be home by dark.” My other buddy had the great quote (answer)

He said ” It isn’t dark out yet, I can still HEAR my lure.”

Good ol topwater fishing for muskies!

It was probably never meant to be a fishing-related quote, but to me it couldn’t be more appropriate. My favorite quote is from Malcom Forbes who said, “No man ever dies wishing he’d spent more time at the office”.

Not a quote, but it probably fits 99.9% of the board visitors here.

    Fisherman’s Oath

I am a fisherman, for life.

I will always be a fisherman.

    It’s not something I do,

    it is who I am.

    Fishing is not an escape.

    It is where I belong,

Where I am supposed to be.

    It is not a place,

    but a lifelong journey.

It is a passage my father showed me,

and that I will show others.

When you understand all of this,

    you will know me,

    and we will fish together.

You’re day is starting slow and somebody asks “How are you doing?” You want to put a positive spin on this and reply,

“As soon as I catch this one and 2 more I’ll have 3.”

“The fish were biting so good I had to hide behind a tree to bait my hook.”
