    A submerged aqua view???
We just got back from a vaca to uppper wisconsin and I did a boo-boo. Long story short It was under water for several hours. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to salvage it. I was looking forward to using it up there in the clear water.

    Thanks

Possibly put it in a large bag , then fill the bag w/ rice. I’ve heard that it can absorb the water and recover electronic equipment. Sounds like you may have lost the aquaview though since it was underwater for a couple hours. I know we saved a submerged digital camera by putting it with rice in a ziploc bag.

Once the monitor is removed from the rice, can it then be microwaved and eaten?

JJ- as with any electronics, be absolutely sure the components are dry when you apply power. Many times submerged equipment is damamged when the operator attempts to power it on too soon following a trip in the drink.

Of course, even if it does start up and appear to be functioning as normal, you can still have some long term effects which might bare their heads later. Hopefully after you get much more use out of it…

Thanks guys, it really sucks, ive only used it a handful of times since the water here is brown other than winter/early spring. I got it for xmas one year and I was really hoping to use it up there. Oh well, maybe ill give it some time to dry and then power up- cant hurt any more right??
