Hey guys. I would just like to make a public thank you to Dean Marshall for helping me and some friends out big-time this weekend. We were camped out on a sand bar on upper Pool 4, and after all the boating and cooking and beach volleyball was over with, it was time to make a fire. At this time it was about 10 O’clock, and the bugs were starting to come out and it was getting a little chilly. A couple of my buddies had been trying to start a fire while we were out boating, but to no avail. So when we got back we got some gas out of my boat and tried that a few times. But, the driftwood that we were using was way too wet. And, not having an ax or hatchet, we coudn’t break up any of the big logs that were dry. So, we called the Mr. Sippi as a desperation attempt to find some firewood. Alas, they had none. By this time the ladies were starting to get a little uneasy and worried that we would never get this thing going. But then I remembered I had an Evert’s Resort Card in my wallet, so I pulled it out and called Dean. Luckily, he said he had some for us and to come get it. So we went up to the resort, VERY graciously took a few armloads, and went back and started a very respectable campfire. So, thanks Dean for saving us from a very buggy and cold night on the river. Oo, and the girls send many thanks.
P.S. Dean, I’ll have your firewood down there soon.
