When we go on vacation which is a 7 hour drive we use a big styrafoam cooler. Fill it half way or a little more with worm beding, stick that in the frig with the crawlers until you are ready to leave. Then take some 20 oz. pop bottles, fill them with water and freeze them. When you leave put the lids on the pop bottles so the melted water doesn’t run out, cover the top of the crawlers with as many pop bottles that you can get in the cooler and still get the lid on. When you get to your destination, put the crawlers in a frig and enjoy the fishing

Yep, do the same. Flat of crawlers into a cooler and swap out frozen bottles of water. When I take the crawlers out to the boat, I use a small tupperware bowl and put the crawlers directly on ice and water. The cold water makes the crawlers swell up after a while.

If you can get your hands on a styraform cooler thats made for medical use for transporting human body parts thier about the best i’ve found. The 3 i’ve got have 2″ thick walls and i’ve seen one that had 3″ walls, i’d like to find one of those and will pick up on it if i do. Like everyone here has said, bottles of frozen water ontop of the bedding will do the job. Maybe wrap them in newspaper to keep the thawing to a minimum for extra long trips and Don’t let any water get into the bedding because too much will drown them.

Keep them out of the sun and in a cooler.

Make sure you check for dead crawlers. Pieces of crawlers cut in half or dead crawlers mixed in with healthy crawlers will kill them all.
