Going up to LacSuel in a week and was wondering if anyone has a good method of preserving minnows. Last year it cost us $150 for minnows at the resort. Thought we would try and use dead ones if we could preserve them. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

On our way back from Canada we stopped at Gander Mountain in Bemidji and they had preserved minnows pre-packaged. They looked to be good quality and there were quite a few per bag and many different sizes to choose from. Didn’t buy any so not sure on how good they are.

    JBB,
This sounds like what I was looking for. I need to bug you with a couple of questions . What type of salt do you use? I assume non-iodized? I was thinking about trying something like Morton Quick Tender or rock salt? Are they completely dried out when you remove them from the salt? Or do you put the salt in the bags with them? Refridgerate to keep cool or can I freeze them?

    Thanks Guy’s
    Your help/ideas are appreciated.
